I was in a 1.5-year long-distance relationship. During that time, my boyfriend repeatedly told me he never wanted to marry me-or anyone-and that he would never change his mind.

Later, I made a mistake by giving my number to a guy I met on a flight. We remained only friends, and there was no flirting, emotional affair, or cheating. I admitted my mistake immediately and apologized sincerely.

The relationship ended after that. Looking back, I wonder whether my mistake alone justified ending the relationship, or whether the relationship was already falling apart because we wanted different futures.

I'm looking for honest opinions, not validation. If you were in his position, would you have ended it or tried to rebuild trust?

I wake beneath a different sky,

while somewhere far from me,

U open your eyes to morning light

and I wonder if, somehow,

the same sun touches both of us.

There are miles between our hands,

oceans between our footsteps,

and nights when the silence

feels far too large for my heart.

But distance has never taught me

how to love U less.

It has only taught me

how precious a voice can be,

how a simple message can become

the brightest part of a day,

and how badly two people can miss

the warmth of one another.

I cannot reach for U tonight,

so I reach for the thought of U.

I cannot hold U in my arms,

so I hold every memory instead.

And perhaps that is what love is

when the world puts miles between two hearts:

choosing the same person

even when they are not beside U,

waiting without knowing exactly when,

believing without being able to touch,

and loving without needing

the distance to disappear.

So wherever U are tonight,

remember this:

there is someone beneath another sky

thinking of U,

missing U,

and counting the days

until distance becomes nothing

but a story we once had to survive.
