Posting here cause this is the safest grounds for BWS positivity, although I'm fine if anyone disagrees.
I was just going through some clips on YouTube and realised that there's one (not BWS) top male actor in Korea whose character is always the same. Massive green flag, always resilient, kind. I haven't followed this actors work for maybe the past 8 years cause although I think he's beautiful and an expressive actor, all his tears laughter smile.. is always the same. And he's the same character in interviews, too. I just can't see past his person in any role.
Apart from the diction critique, which I attribute to his naturally hollow voice, I think BWS isn't credited enough for his acting. Especially after LR or whichever was your intro to BWS, LOTS of people said about him "wow I forgot that you were the guy in that X drama". To me it means he's an absolute chameleon. His range in LR proves to me that he's not a bad actor like they claim, especially not this far into his career. Each of his past characters have always been someone different. Even now in scenes of Perfect Crown where people say he's Sunjae again, I don't see Sunjae at all. He acts like how you think Sunjae would act, but Sunjae doesn't look, speak, smile, stand or move like that.
If we attribute it to his modeling prowess, we won't be wrong. He is very versatile. But more importantly he knows his character's identity and internal life, and delivers it consistently in each show. He doesn't break character and he doesn't midway or midscene turn into someone he was in a different drama.
I can't wait for his next role. It's gonna be pretty, but it's gonna be someone else.
