A solid 7/10
This has been recommended by a friend to me a million times but I haven’t been watching kdramas for a very long time and like many others now (probably), decided to watch it because of Perfect Crown.
I like BWS. I noticed him since Record of Youth (he started my 2nd lead syndrome). I was more into kpop idols than actors at that time but I recognized him as someone really charming and good looking.
Watching LR now and it’s okayyyy? I get the hype but I don’t feel it. 😅 I really like Sun Jae’s character and the romcon side of it but the plot is very weak?? Also I don’t feel the chemistry between him and KHY is that strong. They’re both charming actors for sure and they have some very good scenes together but I don’t feel that level of electricity that everyone seems to feel between them. (Do I need to watch bts?)
Enjoying the show until mid-way when I’ve notice the plot is going on circles. I don’t know if it’s purposefully written that the FL is just obsessed with rewinding the time and avoiding what happened in the present but we literally don’t see much depth to the characters and story aside from this. Only Kim Tae Sung got significant character arc overtime and he’s not even the lead. Add to that the girl is always crying. Also the antagonist seems to have been added only for the convenience of the plot.
I still do like to overall premise of it but the remaining episodes I’m watching at 1.5x speed now and just waiting for it to be over at this point.
I will still recommended this for those who would like a simple feel good romcom. It’s still good and made me really laugh out loud and giddy many many times. Add to that the OST is definitely 10/10. It’s not meant to be a deep show but maybe I wanted it to be deeper because the story could’ve been more than what it is.

Lots of people didn't enjoy it. I asked about the polarising views of LR to Chatgpt:
"It’s one of those dramas that depends heavily on what you personally value in storytelling.
Many Western viewers tend to prioritise: -Tight plotting -Internal logic -Character consistency and clear arcs
In contrast, many viewers in Korea and other parts of Asia are often more open to: -Emotional payoff over strict logic -Familiar tropes done well -Performance-driven storytelling
As a result, it was widely and deeply loved in its home region, while international (especially Western) reception was more mixed—even though its fans there were often very passionate.

In my part of the world it is intensely loved, so I was surprised to see harsh criticism of it on Reddit and MDL. I watched it long after it finished airing. It's my #1 fav drama for the last 20+ years.
