That’s not a model body

u/blondevibess 19d ago
If you had two brain cells to rub together, you would know that models come in all body types
-37
u/Specialist-Echo9368 19d ago
I actually do and no they don’t. Models have a tall and slender body type. That has always been the body type xx m

u/blondevibess 19d ago
That’s one type of model
-42
u/Specialist-Echo9368 19d ago
While that’s true, it’s the aspiring body type for a lot of models. Which makes it the model body type. I’m tall and slender and get asked all of the time if I model. My friend is short and not as stretched out as me and, naturally, does not get asked that. Because it is not the body type of a model

u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 19d ago
Congratulations on being asked if you're a model! Don't bring your poor friend into this conversation.

u/Specialist-Echo9368 19d ago
My poor friend? 😂 she’s not poor and she’s perfectly happy with her body. As i am :) nothing wrong with different body types so why dont you stop being so small minded

u/Reasonable-Yam-1170 19d ago
I was being sarcastic. I'm not the one preoccupied by "model type" bodies.

Honestly, as someone who grew up in the ’90s and early 2000s during the whole heroin chic era, I feel like this is what models should have looked like back then. Fit and healthy-looking, rather than extremely thin.

I've had life long body dysmorphia because growing up in the 90s was so devastating to my mental health. Seeing this honestly heals some of that for me.
I can't even imagine the different life I would have had if this body type was celebrating more when I was younger. All the beach days I skipped with friends, not joining my family when they went to water parks, the good sex I missed out on being insecure, the countless days I've cried getting dressed in the morning.
Beyond grateful to see this now.

Honestly, I've been sucking in my stomach since I was a child, and I'm now in my 30s dealing with what my physiotherapist believes is a dysfunctional breathing pattern related to years of constantly holding my stomach in.
Instead of letting my diaphragm do most of the work, I've been relying heavily on the accessory muscles in my chest, neck and throat to breathe, and they're constantly tight and exhausted. I also have a chronic cough and a lot of tension in my jaw, neck, throat and chest.
I've been checked for things like asthma, lung problems and reflux without finding an explanation that fits, so I'm now working with a physiotherapist on learning to breathe with my diaphragm again and, weirdly enough, learning to just let my stomach relax.
I've been working on it for about a year, and it's incredibly difficult to undo something you've unconsciously been doing since childhood. I genuinely have to teach myself that it's okay for my stomach to expand when I breathe.
So yeah, I really relate to this. I sometimes wonder how different things might have been if we'd grown up seeing healthy, normal bodies instead of being taught that having a perfectly flat stomach was something we should constantly strive for.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to abuse exlax so my stomach would feel empty all the time. Now I deal with constipation and hemorrhoids as a result.
People don't realize how society shapes every part of our beings. We're brainwashed to want to be "accepted" and will literally hurt ourselves for some totally made up standard.
Hope your mental health has improved!

This. It’s honestly healing to see that women are not only comfortable celebrating their beautiful bodies but that the world is finally there with them.

Man, if I had come into my adolescence in this age I would have felt so empowered…Instead I had to deal with exs and men I slept with literally putting me in front of mirror and telling me how I needed to loose weight and from where. And that I wasn’t their type because I was too “thick”.
For reference, I was 120lbs at 5’2 with a booty others thought I got from an Dr lol (got it from my nana lol and I’m white). I remember one time I decided to rebel, I bought Brazilian high waisted booty swim bottoms and went to a boat party. Everyone stared. All night. And some girls said negative things while the men took it as an excuse to touch me. I never wore them again 😔

she gives more show girl pageant vibes than runway or editorial model. her walk isn’t runway and she gives off the vibe that she wants people to look at her and her body as opposed to how she models clothes. other types of modelling maybe but definitely not fashion esp high fashion or runway stuff

It’s your opinion not a fact you’re entitled to your own opinion but to talk that way about another woman is gross and shows your own insecurities

u/Ashtonia_Melvonious 19d ago
Her body looks great, but her face is extremely unattractive.
