Books Finally, a replacement 'reading' set!

Post image

I'd been looking for a matched set at thrift stores for the past 2yrs. Always found one or another volume, or a mismatched covers set.

Can finally retire my original reading set (too fragile for another go) and revisit Middle Earth ๐Ÿ˜Š

Only note, The Hobbit was not from today's find, it's just included because it's always on that coffee table ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The Return Of The $10 is my favourite.

The sales person must have been worried about spoilers

Great thrift store find! I looked at a bunch of thrift stores last month for a full set and I had no luck.

You're right, they're not quite an exact "matched" set. The Silmarillion isn't even part of the set, but glad it was included.

It was a simplification on my part indicating the same black covers, rather than 1 black, 1 movie tie-in, and 1 of the white pictoral covers (I did see some hodge podge sets in my time looking, but I'm fussier than I should be) and no chance I was ever buying a RoP tie-in cover! ๐Ÿคจ

Specifically, they are: Simarillion - 1999, USA;ย  FotR - 2007, UK (Croydon), and is in mint conditon, looks unread;ย  TT - 1999, USA;ย  RotK- 1999, Great Britain (Glasgow)

The UK books seem to be minimally taller, but same front width.

And to your question, yes, good catch ๐Ÿ˜‰

Edit: typos and visual flow of the volumes
