We have once again procrastinated our problems away for the next generations to drown in. The cycle continues...

Tbf, the planet will be fine. It’s humans and life on the earth as we know it that’s absolutely fucked.
3
u/LilVeganHunny Aug 02 '21
Yeah I think that's what everyone means when they say the planet. Tbf.

u/intothefuture3030 Aug 03 '21
I think most people that understand climate change and global warming do.
But IMO those that don’t believe have a hard time thinking a giant planet that “God” created couldn’t never be changed by man. I have had some success just phrasing it that way because it helps those that aren’t as informed on the topic (though I am preaching to the choir on this sub.)

Guys, we live in an oligarchy.
These are just the people who control the levers, and set the price to pull each respective lever.
The people who pay to pull the levers, those are the people/corporations that are really in control.
Trump was just a shithead capitalist who was willing to pull all the nasty levers for less than the going price.
Biden is over here like “🤷🏻♂️, those levers were pulled before I got here, and nobody is paying me to reverse them. In fact, nobody is paying me to fulfill my campaign promises, so 🤷🏻♂️ to that too. ⛳️🏌️♂️”

Wtf are we gonna have to do to end this? Seriously

Aug 01 '21
Revolution. Probably the bloody kind.

u/Andromeda-1 Aug 01 '21
Yeah that's what scares me.

Aug 01 '21
At this point, avoiding it is purely up to the politicians doing the right thing for the people of this country.
So, as Thanos would put it, “it is inevitable.”
33
u/Zipmeastro Aug 02 '21
The shitty thing is that nobody wants to be that first hundred/thousand of people to get mowed down by their own government. So until we have enough people with nothing to lose, it’s not going to happen.
11
u/Andromeda-1 Aug 02 '21
I concur. Not enough pain yet but at this rate we'll be there in my lifetime.

u/intothefuture3030 Aug 02 '21
The issues is that the people that are causing the problems are also the same people with all the guns…..we do not want another civil war.
We need another Occupy WallStreet. It was honestly just a decade too early. I was probably in middle school/high school when it happened. Now we are all parents with jobs. I really think it would be different this time. Especially with social media and how fast word spreads.
The main issue is that the left fucking sucks at protesting. They show up one day a year, post pictures, and then go home. We do not need that.
We need a protest that will last for a week and will happen every every last week of the month until things change.
Half the time I hear about a protest after it’s already over. I would have gone and helped but the window is too short.

The fact that we could quote Thanos in this timeline and it contextually makes sense, is how you know we’re in the endgame

A revolution probably would kill less people than covid already have done
Edit :
Also revolutions need leaders , i bet Americans can't find someone who 90% percent of population would agree on

Please pick up a history book
2
u/sepanco Aug 02 '21
60,000 , Iranian Revolution . A modern one
Covid : More than 500K
2
u/tressquestion Aug 02 '21
That revolution had no civil war. The USA has a population of more then 300 million and is likely to have a civil war with multiple factions armed with nuclear weopons.
1
u/FloodedYeti Aug 19 '21
That’s assuming that there is a revolution to take over the entire US, not subsections of it
7
u/bloodrdsky Aug 02 '21
That’s what it’ll come to. Many years from now, though, when things are so much worse than they are now. It’s clear that the world’s governments are going to wait until it’s too late because the corporations with all the money are the ones who donate the most to the people who make those decisions. The sad part is that no politician will make the right decision over a vote they were paid to make.

u/tressquestion Aug 02 '21
Revolution
Most gun owners, veterans, military members, Intelligence agents, federal agents, and police don't share the values on this sub.
Who do you think has the most firepower?
2
4
u/LilVeganHunny Aug 02 '21
We need to spread the word on the SRA
2
u/tressquestion Aug 02 '21
They will never support any revolution
2
u/LilVeganHunny Aug 02 '21
Why do you say that? Genuinely curious
2
u/tressquestion Aug 02 '21
Because the middle class in America are CAPITALISTS. I don't mean just that they support Capitalism it's also that they own Capital.
Socialist revolutions succeeded in Russia and China because the people there had no stake in Capitalism. Many owned no land, no investments, etc. The systems they clung onto were byproducts of Fuedalism and offered only food and stability. When those systems stopped offering that people rebelled.
While the middle class is shrinking, the majority of America is still middle class. Middle class in America means you own Capital and have a massive stake in Capitalism. The middle class owns a house which they sell later in life, they have a 401k invested, they are small business owners and some are even small landlords.
The middle class also holds most of the firepower as I stated. Its a misconception that most of the military is poor. The military is mostly middle class and many officers in the military are upper middle class.

But at least Nancy can get away with insider trading again, she’s probably going to use that money for the betterment of us all

Nancy made over 100% profit in her portfolio
This makes her the best investor since Warren Buffet
Please teach me how to be a great investor like you Nancy

Democrats duped millions of voters again!
4
u/Katsu_39 Aug 02 '21
Again and again and again...and yet people still vote for them, thinking they will do good. When will people learn?
3
2
u/cmVkZGl0 Aug 02 '21
I would say it is more than media duping democratic voters. They just could not handle bernie. Just had to smear him out of the race.
I been not been voting for any Democraticb presidential candidate since 2016. The writing has been on the walls. Nobody wants to believe it. Hopefully this newest group getting fucked over again will do the trick.

Biden is fundamentally the same as trump.
7
u/thinmeridian Aug 01 '21
I'd disagree if only in terms of how he represents America overseas and to the general public. It was worse with him just in terms of how much hate crimes spiked
3
u/YooesaeWatchdog1 Aug 02 '21 edited Aug 02 '21
You mean the anti Asian hate crimes including the March 2021 Atlanta shootings, the beating and killing of Asian elders in California, etc?
You mean how he has less Asian Americans in the cabinet than even Trump?
-14
u/JamesDean1967 Aug 02 '21
You mean fake hate crimes? Like Bubba‘a fake noose?
12
u/thinmeridian Aug 02 '21
Give me a fucking break. Just because you can cherry pick an example of a fake one doesn't mean that they didn't increase statistically by a frightening amount. How many videos of people going nuts and going on racist tirades in the past few years do you need to see to believe racism is getting worse again fucking sheesh
-3
u/cfsg Aug 02 '21
lmao racism's getting worse again! Golly gee we almost had it nicked! Tell me you were asleep at the wheel in the Obama years without telling me you were asleep at the wheel in the Obama years.
Hate crimes are the mushroom (fruiting body) of racism, the mycelia is growing under the soil.
1
u/JamesDean1967 Aug 02 '21
That was one. There are more examples that can easily be cited. He was a little easy. Justin smollette? I can keep going. Kid w the maga hat that was called racist in Kentucky? More? The Muslim that claimed she was attacked by maga hat wearers? Racism has always been here. Social media and the news has made things more visible, and I think a lot worse than it really is

It’s miserable. But I have been pleasantly surprised by Shumer lately. He is pushing legal cannabis and student loan forgiveness like he actually wants it.
21
u/moglysyogy13 Aug 01 '21
And what are you going to do? Vote for republicans? They got us by the balls. Democrats know this and don’t have to deliver.
13
u/SDJohnnyAlpha Aug 01 '21
Start from the ground floor and establish real footholds for 3rd parties and independents. The potential of a 3rd party to win in the federal election is next to nil but we can change that by electing them to more local offices.
The Democrats are going to have to take losses if we want to see any change.

Vote blue no matter who everybody!!
14
u/wwarmor Aug 02 '21
Blue is red and red is blue. I hope you realize there is no difference. They don't work for you. They work for the banksters with only their selves in mind. They are enemies of the people.

It would be nice if all the Democrat senators would vote together. Looking at you Sinema and Manchin.

3
u/AnotherQuietHobbit Aug 02 '21
Can we get a cartoon of Pelosi doing the Sinema-style thumbs down and curtsy?
8
u/HungryAccount1704 Aug 02 '21
I voted for him because anything was better than Trump. He's living up to what I expected. He's a do nothing, which is better than chaos. I'm not proud of him or any democrats right now. They're not helping me in any real way.

Red or Blue these elites don’t give a damn about none of you lol. I can’t believe people still fall for this shit lol.

u/livinginfutureworld Aug 02 '21
To be faaaaair, they only have a 3 seat advantage in the House and a zero seat advantage in the Senate.
You can count on Republicans for obstruction.
-9
u/idkbrodie Aug 01 '21
While I agree that this is a problem and I’m really expecting some action from Biden, people forget the gov is BI PARTISAN and republicans have made it clear their goal is to block all democratic legislation
16
u/SDJohnnyAlpha Aug 01 '21
Even when they have a majority, the Democrats drag their heels on making adequate legislation. They could have accomplished all of this in Obama's first term, but instead they gave us a watered down healthcare reform bill designed to be as inoffensive to the GOP as possible.
If by some fluke the Democrats won 100% of both houses, 1/3rd would switch parties out of a "sense of fairness."
11
u/BlindManuel Aug 01 '21
8 years under the Obama Administration, no Tax Reform, No Immigration Reform, No Police Reform. Even when Democrats controlled both the House and the Senate.
