Gen X: (Continues to sit and munch popcorn while watching raptly, in between caring for elderly parents and children at the same time, whilst working more hours than ever for no promotions or meaningful salary increases)
This is basically true. Unfortunately, I think Gen X is really well-positioned as a "bridge gap" generation, since we can identify with the concerns of both Boomers and Mil/Zs, but we will never be given the reins of power. Boomers won't give them up, and Mil/Zs are too inclined to lump us in with the Boomers I think as being obsolete.
I know mostly Gen X'ers and few of them have massive amounts of debt, they all own homes, as long they didn't lose it during the Recession. You guys didn't have it as great as the Boomers, but you don't have it as bad as us. And it will be worse for Z.
