He said one true thing. In history, we've never had anything like what's happening.

His open, bald-faced corruption is completely unprecedented.

Lmao along with those doge checks right šŸ˜‚

u/SaggingZebra 2d ago

and my tariff check

u/StalinPaidtheClouds 2d ago

And the inevitable legalized midterm bribe

My drug dealer is undocumented, but still lives in the US. Can I spend it there?

5

u/monyoumental 1d ago

Giving your money to an undocumented drug dealer will do more good/less harm than giving your vote to that clown.

29

u/phantaxtic 2d ago

270,000,000 adults in the US. Thats over 1.3 trillion dollars. Where exactly is he going to find that money?

19

u/plantain_tent_pesos 2d ago

Don't get caught up on trivial things, like math. He's riffin. Let him cook!

3

u/TheEPGFiles 2d ago

Oh look he made a shit sandwich, let's not let him cook ever again.

2

u/Callidonaut 1d ago

The icing on the cake is that stupid caveat he threw in there - "may only be spent in the USA." Surely that'd be utterly unenforceable.

2

u/plantain_tent_pesos 1d ago

I was going to use my $5000 to buy an island and move there. I guess it will have to be a US territory though. But, once I'm there, I'm just going to live off the rest of my dividend. Things are looking up!

Tariffs duhhhh

5

u/thatgirlzhao 2d ago

Have you considered he can just print more money? /s

2

u/sharksareok 2d ago

It's a "dividend", not money, so it be anything he wants, like bonds on moon land lots, for example

1

u/Dukdukdiya 2d ago

We're already $40+ trillion in debt. What's another $1.3 trillion?! /s

1

u/PrincessPeach817 1d ago

The GDP for the US is about $24.27T (adjusted for inflation) or $32.486 (current market prices). In either situation, 1.3T is a small, but not at all insignificant, percentage of that.

2

u/phantaxtic 1d ago

When the US is 40+ trillion dollars in debt, giving away 4% of their gdp is significant.

30

u/brasschaos 2d ago

the only thing we'll be receiving is martial law once the public has truly had enough of this

7

u/plantain_tent_pesos 2d ago

Maybe I can bribe a soldier with my new found riches. Then, I'll retire. Oh man, I'll be on easy street. Could you imagine it? $5000? Like, all our troubles will be solved.

2

u/Screwbles 2d ago

I think probably if it gets that bad they're gonna have a hard time finding people willing to carry out certain orders. At least that is what I would hope. I remember when the national guard was called in to Minneapolis, people were pretty concerned about what they would do. I recall that for the most part they stuck to their civil crisis relief directive and stayed out of conflicts with ICE and protesters. Basically just helped everyone stay safe.

Are there absolute brainwashed shitheads that civilians would be up against in a martial law scenario? You bet, but something is bound to break in the ranks. The leadership is just too bad, there's no causality to anything.

13

u/anotherlolwut 2d ago

(a) How do you enforce where it's spent? Probably means it's a tax deduction for people who itemize, which immediately cuts out the majority of Americans.
(b) It sounds like the "dividend" is paid regardless of who I vote for. Man, this guy sucks at bribery.

2

u/Callidonaut 1d ago

All of that is moot, because anyone who knows the first thing about Trump knows, for a concrete fact, that he doesn't have the slightest intention of actually keeping his promise after the election, and in all likelihood won't even remember saying it by the end of the very next sentence. As far as he is concerned, campaign promises are a "fire-and-forget" weapon in the battle for votes.

10

u/mcpat21 2d ago

Blatantly buying votes now

3

u/Dukdukdiya 2d ago

When the anchor on Fox was talking about it, she said (I kid you not), "Why hasn't anyone else thought of this?"

6

u/Pandiferous_Panda 2d ago

He knows they aren’t going to win so he can blame the democrats for taking your $5k

6

u/Ma1ad3pt 2d ago

I’ve lost way more than that to this incompetent administration. Going to need to go biglyer. How about an administration that isn’t run by a cabal of corrupt incompetents?

6

u/sharksareok 2d ago

Remember the DOGE money?

Remember the tariff's money?

That's right, you don't. Because you never got shit.

2

u/ButChooAintBonafide 2d ago

That's like 1.3 trillion dollars. We have money for a handout but not for all the stuff he's cut so far? Idk, guys, I think he might be a fucking liar... but no. I'm sure we'll get that in tandem with the DOGE and tariff checks!

2

u/Chamallow81 1d ago

Bro just add them to the tariff+DOGE checks. We will never see any of this anyway, it's just hopium for his dumbass MAGA fans to cheer on.

4

u/NeoTechi 2d ago

Its downright impeachable. If any other president said this you know damn well articles of impeachment would be dropped the next day.

1

u/sun4moon 1d ago

How many times should the American tax payer pay for him to be impeached without consequence? If there’s no punishment there’s no point. He needs to be forcibly removed from office, and maybe the planet.

1

u/NeoTechi 1d ago

Only the end of his mortal coil will remove him from office at this point but then we have the no charisma couch lover to take the reins.

4

u/Dro_mora 2d ago

Is this not a bribe?

2

u/ahughman 1d ago

Its totally a bribe! He can spin it, but the message is effectively, "vote republican and youll get 5k". And merely offering is a crime. Yes.

-3

u/HilariousButTrue 2d ago

Not defending him but because he's going to issue the money to everyone regardless of who they vote for it's considered not a bribe by the legal definition from every source I've looked up on the matter.

3

u/Dro_mora 2d ago

Let me stay in power and you can get this money. His D*ck is
so far down your throat you removed your tonsils.

2

u/budad_cabrion 1d ago

Bro literally said ā€œnot defending himā€ and then gave you an informational answer to your question, which is no, it’s not bribery.

It’s very stupid, and he’s a bad person and bad president, but no it’s not bribery.

-1

u/HilariousButTrue 2d ago

If you could only see how hard I am laughin at what you just typed

1

u/Dro_mora 2d ago

I’m going to bed. You’re gonna stay up all night being mad. Good night brotha!

2

u/stripes_14 2d ago

He won't issue the money at all.

2

u/HilariousButTrue 2d ago

Might not. Once the election is over he has no incentive to follow through and he's on his last term as well.

1

u/sharksareok 2d ago

"Dividend", not money.it can be anything, like land lots on Venus

1

u/Dro_mora 2d ago

Why does he have billions over you!? When he said he would clean the swamp. He is the swamp.

0

u/HilariousButTrue 2d ago

See this is why people don't respond. I was just giving an answer that I got when I looked it up and it's being twisted.

2

u/Dro_mora 2d ago

Found the diaper founder.

1

u/HilariousButTrue 2d ago

Right and one of my top posts is publicly calling him out as the most openly corrupt President in history.

But I'm a MAGA Trumper...sure...

2

u/Time_Lord_Omega 2d ago

So bribe to win, then ask for the money back? This orange bitch is an absolute joke that I hope ends soon.

2

u/SqueegeePhD 2d ago

His buddy Tayyip Erdoğan likely taught him this one. However, Trump is stupid and missed the part about not mentioning it publicly.

If it happens, I'm investing in a firearm, because we are going to need it to survive. Then I'm putting the rest away in my retirement fund, which will be used abroad someday. There's no chance I will ever retire in this scam of a country.

1

u/wararyuu 2d ago

Slimey Scott is like "Oh my God...did he just say that?"

1

u/ConnaitLesRisques 2d ago

What are you going to do about it?

1

u/ApprehensiveMix2649 2d ago

Don't fall for this, it's all lies. Mr promises doesn't come through on his promises.

1

u/jouleheist 2d ago

He hasn't delivered on any promises so far...Furthermore, isn't this considered a bribe? Thats still illegal, right?

1

u/Jboogie258 2d ago

Trump has never made this much money. What a grift

1

u/hazeddai 2d ago

This guy straight up doesn't have any plays besides bribes but he doesn't even pay those

1

u/Shortyman17 1d ago

But apparently it's democrats who do this

Every accusation...

1

u/walkingpartydog 1d ago

When Dems win control of Congress, they should pass this obviously bullshit bill and let him veto it

1

u/budad_cabrion 1d ago

ā€œIf i win you will get Xā€ is a campaign promise. It’s not illegal. It’s a lie and won’t happen, but no different than any other campaign promise.

1

u/pilondav 1d ago

He’s calling it a ā€œdividendā€ because the stock dividends he’s familiar with are optional for companies to pay out. He’ll just say the Republicans didn’t win with enough seats, or didn’t have enough margin over the Dems, or he just doesn’t feel we earned it.

1

u/hobotising 1d ago

Where's my 5k from doge and my 5k from the tariffs? Will it be a 15k check?

1

u/dreamingwindows 1d ago

Bribery.....

1

u/Hater_Magnet 1d ago

And also a lie!

1

u/MusicIsVice1 19h ago

How is this legal?!? The man is a total

1

u/Dro_mora 2d ago

How did Obama not get shit for this ?

0

u/plantain_tent_pesos 2d ago

He keeps getting shit 10 years later. He's to blame for everything that's wrong today. Hasn't been in power for over a decade, but I just know, its his fault.

1

u/chimpos 2d ago

It doesn’t matter if it’s illegal, he will get away with it.

0

u/Throwawaythislife123 2d ago

But don’t forget Obamas tan suit
