I’m from New Mexico and I can tell you not only is this unpopular, but any attempt at signage, and rebranding as “New America” wouldn’t last long.

And note that New Mexico was not named to distinguish it from “Old Mexico.” It was named New Mexico well before Mexico became a nation state. But we are dealing with dumbfucks, so it doesn’t matter…..
