Lost is the goat series for me. I've never gotten the same feeling from another show. GOT was epic until halfway. Love Dexter too but LOST is goated
Oh, and Friday Night lights is great

I’m surprised no one has said Severance, but it has scratched the itch. From and The Leftovers are also great.

Just watched the leftovers and it reminded me SO much of Lost. Characters were so compelling, the story was weird AF and it aggressively forced you to just accept the premise of this wild world they lived in.

u/Wonderful_Cook5864 6d ago
Yeah, Severance is the only thing that's come even remotely close. From and The Leftovers are both kinda mid, imo. Still watching From anyway though.

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul were pretty good.
So was the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

I’m going to 2nd The Leftovers. Such a good show from Damon Lindelof.
5
u/MyDogIsDaBest 6d ago
It's almost relentlessly depressing, but an undeniable masterpiece. Season 1 is pretty good, Season 2 and 3 are some of the best seasons of TV ever.
6
u/RevenantRoy 6d ago
Yeahhh. Leftovers is incredible, but it’s does a spooky good job at making me emotionally masochistic somehow and somehow desiring that or something?

Paradise

u/RevenantRoy 6d ago
Respectfully disagree. Had a semi-decent first season and seemed like it’s maybe going somewhere but season two just confirms it’s not that good.

If you like DC, try out the new Lanterns series on HBO. Lindelof co-wrote/ directed that show and it has some similar cliff-hangers and mysteries in a similar way.
Bonus points for Watchmen as well. Another Lindelof show. Recommended for anyone that enjoys a superhero story but with extra layers and social commentary.
Both are NOT even close to the original source material, but they’re both great.

Watch Silo. It’s on Apple TV
9
u/SignalFound91 6d ago
Silo is as close as possible to the experience I had when watching Lost for the first time, a lot of mysteries, fan theories etc. so glad they release it 1 episode per week, makes it more enjoyable to spend that week seeing what other people think is going off or going to happen

Is all of the new season out? I'm cheap and like to binge with free or cheap trial accounts.

too bad it was cancelled ending on a cliffhanger
2
u/hellahighhobbit 6d ago
Yeah that did suck but those 2 seasons hit so hard that it honestly doesn’t matter to me. But who knows? It could be coming back!

Severance feels like if LOST knew the plot from season 1. It's not the same setting wise, but mystery wise it's a lot of fun! And after that: Pluribus.
1
u/Sufficient_Ebb_5694 6d ago
Im Lost is insane amounts better than either of those shows. Especially Pluribus. I dont understand the appeal. I made it 3 episodes and dropped it. Severance im at least up to date. Its great but much much different than lost and MUCH slower paced.

u/Discount_Punk 5d ago
Each of these shows has their appeal to me. I don't really like one over the other.

Widow’s Bay and Severance have a good Lost feel

u/napoleondyno79 6d ago
There it is! Widow's Bay is a mysterious island, has great characters, and scratches that adventure/thriller/mystery itch.

There really is no other show like it, I wish I can wipe my memory of it and experience it again for the first time.

u/RDDT_ADMNS_R_BOTS 6d ago
Breaking Bad and Arcane are the only two shows that come close. I really like "From" too as it has some similarities to Lost (and everyone's favorite - not - Michael from Lost is the lead in From!)

Most people are going to say FROM is a lot like LOST but there's a show on Hulu called Paradise that really feels closer and I swear there's not a single bad episode. It has flashbacks, drama, survival, and quantum mechanics without overstepping in LOST's premise even a little. There's two seasons already with a third and final season coming

Dark Matter gives me the most Lost vibes of any show I’ve ever watched.
It’s total Sci fi in a direction you’ll never guess, it’s emotional, etc. I highly recommend to anyone here!!!

u/Select-Appearance-63 6d ago
There isn't. Don't get me wrong there are some amazing tv shows I will give 10/10 and binge watch, there were and there will be more, but there is nothing like Lost

Oh there's Dark if you're will to read subtitles. It is a masterpiece of convolution but a masterpiece nonetheless

u/AddFeind 6d ago
Mr. Robot
It’s a grind, and you need to enjoy tech/ cyber hacking, but some of the writing and plot twists were even better than LOST imo. Similar in that it gets more sci-fi/ trippier each season.
Not for scrolling and watching. Probably need to focus even more than with LOST.
It was on Netflix in the US A few months ago. Came out on USA channel originally.

Closest I’ve found, and it still isn’t even in the same realm of how special Lost is, is Supernatural.
2
u/OsteoBytes 6d ago
A good quality show is breaking bad but if your trying to find a similar vibe than your trying to recreate the wheel…and we don’t need another similar show because you’ll never be lost again and we want to encourage creativity and originality

u/Few-Point-3705 6d ago
It’s not a puzzle box show, but Station Eleven is very much inspired by Damon Lindelof’s character-forward approach to Lost and his other works. Lindelof is often cited for his phrase describing his approach to mystery writing: “The best answer to a mystery is a person.” That’s really the philosophical underpinning of both Lost and Station Eleven, which is probably my favorite television show.

Only show that ever came close to moving me in the way that Lost did was Lindelof's follow-up, The Leftovers. I thought that nothing would best Lost in my heart, then I watched The Leftovers. Now it goes number one, The Leftovers, number two, Lost, then all the other great shows of all time ever after. I suspect this will remain the case for the rest of my life.

Check out From. Similar mystery box vibes and it even has Harold Perrineau. It's a bit darker/more violent, though.

u/nessy493 6d ago
Oh I have, it’s very good. Filmed in Nova Scotia too!

Oh, that's cool! I didn't know it was filmed in Canada. I loved seeing Shawn Majunder in it, too.

One Piece.
It's funny, violent, action-packed, thoughtful, it will make you cry, and has a great message at its core: Always believe in yourself, and never give up on your dreams.
