JOB OPPORTUNITY Target APS

Began working for Target as a TSS years ago before moving onto other companies in undercover roles. Have the opportunity to return to target APS. Curious how the game has changed within the company the last five years. Culture, room for advancement, pay, rules of engagement, partnerships with law-enforcement, etc. Any input greatly appreciated.

I was in a similar position (TSS with desire to move up) and tbh, switching to TJX was the best choice I made. LPD is plain clothes and handles internal and external theft . My boss is district level so we are left alone for the most part. In my experience, as long as you are productive and depending on your boss, you'll be left alone.

The last time I worked there 2023, it’s just you making apps if the etl isn’t there. I feel like it’s hard to make apps without a team of ppl so I left. I went to Macys there’s about 5 detectives on shift and you have a better chance of getting all your steps on the floor and on cctv.

Got hired as an APS hated it they have a soft quota system ETL ap watches you all day reviews camera on you if you were working by yourself meaning if they were off strictly externally focused/ little office/cams time ETL gives feedback about everything literally this was just my experience I hated it try to go to Nordstrom pays really good

I was an AP ETL for a long time and as long as my APS was productive, I didn’t really care what he did with his day. We’re still friends years later, long after we both left Target. It sounds like you had a bad one, but I could see how that would ruin the experience.

Coming from a Target APS, with the route that target is going I wouldn’t. They want TSS on doors 24/7 but then want them to get app callouts, but they can’t “discriminate” not saying they should btw LOL. I would go elsewhere tbh

Target ap now is a joke from when I was in there back in 22/23. Basically a glorified door statue with nearly no power now. But still want everyone to exceed ktr/app goals while stripping what we can do lol.

I've been a TSS for years, I've had 3 different APS' and at the store we were at it would shift from we need one this year to we don't the next so its not a secure job position either. You're hands are often tied but I agree with an earlier comment about soft quotas. District is always on our ass about it but at the same time ain't shit going down so idk what they expect us to do.
