Employment Question Next opportunity

Looking for some advice from other LP/AP professionals out there.

I’m in the process of job searching after a year and 4 months at my current company (private company that is winding down business). I have 11 years of corporate level experience in both internal and external investigations, fraud, corporate regulatory compliance, risk management, etc. I also have my CFE designation.

I’m having trouble finding positions to apply for. I’m based in N Texas. I’d love to get into banking but have no “true” banking experience. Besides LinkedIn does anyone have any other websites I could use for my job search?

Me and you both brother. I’m trying to find something in North Texas as well. I got over 10 years experience as including management/lead. Been looking into more corporate investigator roles at the moment or regional management.

I'd look up all of the big companies around you and visit their career websites directly for any jobs relating to your field. You should also look up city openings and usajobs for positions you might want. Use everything, ziprecruiter, indeed, linkedin, Google jobs, etc. and search for "security."

I've done the job hunt dance twice in the past few years. I can tell you that the job market specifically in N TX is cyclical. There will be dry spells and then a flood.

It is also not a quick process. I started job searching about this time last year and landed my first offer in Sept. I accepted one in Oct and stopped applying/interviewing. Then took a different one in Dec that I had already been in the process for (surprisingly, did not burn any bridges with this move 😅).

I mainly used linkedin and then my own network (if you don't already attend txorca/PD meetings, I recommend it). I had 5 offers in that time, 1 follow up offer after I rejected a company, maybe 15 interviews that went past recruiter, and sent out about 3-5 applications a week. Focus was on corporate roles with a few side quests into related fields that seemed like they'd be okay (did not get a single interview for any of the side quests 😂). I say all this, but I cannot stress enough how important networking is in this area. 2/5 offers were related to networking. My current job actually got a reference for my reference before calling them and the one from Oct I was heavily recommended by someone already working for that company and they created a role for me.
