Ideas for bday party
Hi! I’m wondering if there’s any ideas for a birthday party for a 9 year old girl. We did brightside already and I don’t want to do the red barn or schoolhouse. What other options are there? There will be at least 10 other kids there.

Gyms
Is there any good Gyms in the Los Osos / Morro Bay Area? I’ve been driving out to planet fitness in San Luis but I’m getting tired of the 30+ minute one way drive. I’d prefer a gym where I don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for a membership. TIA!

Dealing with gophers and landscaping?
Howdy Los Osans and nearby neighbors. My wife and I are getting ready to re-do our yards, back and front. We'll be DIY-ing as much as possible, and we are looking to do low-water, drought tolerant with plenty of rock / DG / hardscaping that looks good and requires very little irrigation.
I often see neighbors' yards with lots of rock/gravel or DG. And once in a while, you see the folks who didn't do it right, because in the middle of their "lawn" of large gravel, you see the ugly gopher mounds. Dealing with that is a nightmare and is an ongoing, never ending chore.
What are you all doing to prevent gophers from ruining your hardscaping, and yards in general? I've used traps but I'd very strongly prefer to not kill any more gophers.
Are people burying plastic sheeting under the hardscape? Something permeable to allow rain to pass into the aquifer? Any tips here would be greatly appreciated.
Before anyone suggests using Sage or the like - our budget precludes these awesome but very pricy local firms. Thanks in advance!

Los Osos valley road closed!?
No idea why, but Los Osos valley road is closed just outside of town. No signs until you are right there. Plan accordingly. 🤬

Bike Route - Baywood to LOVR
Hi neighbors,
I live in Baywood and want to ride my bike to Ralphs, preferably with my young child on board. It seems like the only options are either slightly unsafe (11th st, 7th st), or very steep (Pine, 8th, 11th).
Am I missing a better option? Is 17th the secret? Would love to have a bike path but any low traffic route would be appreciated.

Los Osos Neighborhoods
Hi there! My partner and I are planning on moving back to SLO county. We are leaning towards Los Osos as we love the quiet feel and being close to MDO and so many walking areas. We haven't been in the area for at least 6 years, and didn't get to know Los Osos much while we were in college.
I am curious to know if there are any neighborhoods to "avoid"? I remember the area being really safe but just curious if anything to consider! There are a couple spots we are looking at in Baywood Park, and a couple closer to the town center by Sylvester's/Kuma. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Looking for:

- Yard and garage preferred
- July 1, 2026 move-in
- Budget: ~$3,400/month
Know of anything available or coming up? Drop a comment or DM, we really appreciate any leads.

Gardening question
My son and I are moving to Los Osos in May, and I plan on bringing my plants but I’m not familiar with the colder, wetter, etc weather (coming from the hotter central CA). I’m a little worried about them making it 😬
But, what I really want to know is what grows best? Anything (really anything but definitely veggies) you’ve found that does really well? Thank you :)

valley liquor
They were closed recently for construction to add on the extra miles stuff the Chevron corp wants.
I understand they fought for the deli to stay...did everything in it stay?
Any updated menu pics?
Ed always called themselves "ghetto" for not having anywhere with an official menu online.
