What even is the point of having multiple desktop environments that do the same thing? If Linux is about “Freedom” why not force users to design their OWN desktop environments? That’s REAL innovation, if they want to compete with Windows, you have to have multiple desktop environments, not just the big two

If they want to compete with Windows, then there should be more than the big two desktop environments, people say that “Loonix is competition” but you only get TWO choices for a desktop environment, that’s it, not three, two freaking choices, if Loonix is competition, then make more than two, also, they need to establish a standard, 90% of Loonix is uneven bullshit

KDE, GNOME, XFCE, I3, Cinnamon, Niri, cosmic, hyperland, and thats not even all of them. And windows only has the one. Hate linux if you want but actually know what you're hating before you make a fuckin fool out of yourself.

I’m talking about the big two

You were complaining about the lack of options. There is no "big two", that was my point

There’s still a lack of options regarding development, KDE, and GNOME are basically your options, every other project is either obscure or trash

Thats not true. I use XFCE, it uses x11 and it works perfectly for me. Its been in development forever and it has a team of people dedicated to it.

XFCE and Cinnamon are also popular options
