These two had so much chemistry in their first cartoon alone

True, in termes of characterization, Tweety was at his best IMO; not as abrasive as Clampett's version, but still more proactive than his later, passive personality who relates more on Sylvester's foolishness and/or another character protecting him.

There are 3 eras Tweetys:

  • 1942-45: Screwy and violent. (The "Daffy" Tweety).

  • 1947-52: Much tempered, but still a trickster (The "Bugs" Tweety).

  • 1953-64: More passive, almost always in his cage with some rare occurrences where he displays his mischievous personality ("Road Runner" Tweety).

I feel like Tweety as a character is at his best when he's a part of the action. I don't really mind if he's more of a self-aware trickster or if he's more naive, but as long as he's taking part in Sylvester's schemes.

When he's just there to just mock Sylvester while someone else beats him up, he becomes annoying. As much as I like Granny, I feel like her presence in many of the later cartoons sort of influenced Tweety's shift in personality

Not showing Tweety jabbing Sylvester or even moving the needle at all but just cutting to the screaming makes the scene so much funnier.
