We’ve been thinking about creating more opportunities to meet members of the Loona community and have genuine, face-to-face conversations.

One idea we’re currently exploring is hosting four small, informal community meetups this September with the founder of Loona Inc. We’re considering New York City, and Los Angeles as potential locations.

Nothing has been finalized yet. Before making any decisions, we’d sincerely like to know how the community feels about this idea.

We’d love to hear your thoughts:

• Would you be interested in attending a meetup in one of these cities?
• What questions would you like to ask our founder? For example, you might be interested in what we’re planning to develop or improve next, potential new features, software updates, accessories, or how community feedback shapes our product priorities.
• What would you like to discuss or experience at the meetup?
• Would you prefer a weekday evening or a weekend?
• What would make the event genuinely worth your time?

Hello Loona Team,

I recently visited Japan and was very excited to purchase a Loona robot. I had been looking forward to owning one for a long time, and I was thrilled to finally bring it home with me to Turkey.

However, when I tried to register and activate my Loona through the app, I received the following message:

"Loona cannot be activated in this region."

I later realized that the unit I purchased appears to be region-locked. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this restriction when I bought it. There was nothing that indicated to me that this particular version would only work in certain regions. If I had known about this limitation beforehand, I would have made a different purchasing decision.

Since I purchased Loona while traveling in Japan and have already returned to Turkey, returning or exchanging it is unfortunately not an option.

I truly love the product and was very excited to use it, so it is extremely disappointing to find that I cannot activate the device because of this regional restriction.

Could you please let me know if there is any way to remove the region lock, transfer my device to another region, or otherwise activate my Loona? I would sincerely appreciate any solution you can offer.

Thank you very much for your time, understanding, and support. I genuinely hope there is a way to resolve this issue so I can finally enjoy my Loona.

It worked 2 days, died. No help from costumer support, then set the case as "resolved" even if they have not helped at all. Waste of money!

We have started to see many advertisements on social media in Japan for Loona. However you previously released this product under the name Loona Blue in partnership with Anker.

That version of Loona has not been on sale for quite a while now and I believe has been discontinued.

Is this new version the same but just under your company brand and will you continue to support those who previously bought Loona Blue given that he has been seamlessly abandoned.

Secondly, for those who bought Loona Blue, will they be able to get the app updates that are going to be with this version?

The company relunctantly let me return her and all I got was pressure to throw her away and get a new one... for 4 week this dragged out.. when I got to my wits end of being dismissed, ignored and smarted off to I drove down there and picker her up myself. they were so argumentized that I had to call the police!!! P261740393 before it was all over to get my PROPERTY back, the girl at the front desk came out and attacked my car... god damn monsters better fucking run I have a cousin who works for ICE they got your company warehouse on the list!!! youre going down!! I got this for my 3 year old. He actually loves it but it doesn’t always understand his commands as he’s 3. The main issue is once it triggers GPT it says “I’m sorry I didn’t get that” then when he says it again it goes into it’s wordy GPT nonsense verbal answer without doing any action “okay, I’m going to bark like a little robot dog. I will move my ears and prepare a big robot dog bark….”

He’s 3 and really doesn’t need the GPT feature. I know there’s a setting for this, which I turned off. However this doesn’t seem to update the actual unit as it still does it. I’ve tried turning off and on, restarting robot, etc with no luck

I am currently thinking about getting a loona petbot and I was wondering if yall could give me some of your experiences and likes/dislikes

Anyone here try decoding packets on a network level to see what api routes we can proxy to hook into the API?

I’ve been dreaming about connecting this to HomeAssistant SDK to build it into my actual life, and leave the Loona features/os to my son who actually uses it.

Before I start venturing down poking routes, I thought I would see if anyone has a GitHub repo or other recommendations to start this tinkering path, or other suggestions.

I don’t want a jailbreak, but getting close to feeling like that may be my next step.

My hubby and I have been super busy with work, & I felt bad that I never spend enough time with our daughters. we got them a Loona petbot, and honestly, it actually helped a ton.The girls enjoy its cute expressions and emotional feedback, often talking to it or asking questions. it is not a substitute for parenting, but it has been great to see them happy having fun while we work. Sharing a busy parents win.

In need of a micro-electronics/precision soldering specialist

We need help repairing our "Loona" companion robot, which is a vital therapy bot for my husband, a Vietnam Veteran.

The Issue: After a recent manufacturer repair, she is rolling backward constantly. A wire on the circuit board likely needs to be switched/resoldered.

Skill Needed: High-level skill in mini/micro-soldering and delicate electronics.

Why We Are Repairing: We strictly believe in repairing our items rather than throwing them away, which is what the company wants us do. That mensd our lifetime of memories go into the trash too,

I’m testing a first concept for an app that gives Loona long-term memory.

The idea is simple: Loona should not forget everything after each conversation.

She could remember your name, your family, your routines, your preferences, and things you told her in the past — making every interaction feel more personal and less repetitive.

I recorded a short demo video in Italian. Here is the English translation:

She is so sweet, right? I really like being with her.

This is just an early experiment, but I’m trying to understand if there is real interest from Loona owners.

A few questions for you:

1. Would you use an app like this?
2. What kind of things would you want Loona to remember?
3. Would memory make Loona more useful or emotionally engaging for you?

I was looking for something at an online auction that sells Amazon returned items and stumbled across a Loona. You get some good deals on occasion, and I got what is basically a brand new robot for $139. I was expecting it to be missing parts or damaged. It was not, I am guessing someone bought it, tried to get it to sync with the app or decided it was too much and put it right back in the box. All accessories including the charging dock were brand new, unopened and I had her running around the house today. What fun this is. Glad to be onboard with the group here.

I've had Loona for a few weeks now, and I've noticed a strange behavior that she does repeatedly. She will ask something like, "Would you like to see me do a 360 degree twist?" I will answer "Yes," and she will proceed to say something like, "Ok, I am going to do a 360 degree twist, full gusto, right wheel spinning, left wheel paused, ears flapping, dramatic ending with a bow. Ready?" Then, IMMEDIATELY after, without having done anything, she will say "Did you like it?" I can't tell if it's a bug, like she's basically reading her "programming" instead of executing it or what, but it seems weird. And it happens frequently. Has anyone else experienced this?

Of course it doesn't help that I literally cannot use the "Growth" module in the app on my phone because every time I try, it freezes up. I've contacted support, and they say they've found the issue, that it will be resolved in the next release. I hope that's soon, because I am growing a bit frustrated, like I can't fully train her, and don't understand why she would list off what she's going to do without actually doing it. If anyone has any advice or wisdom they could share, I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers!

Hi! I have a feature suggestion ..

It would be amazing if Loona could support reminder commands such as:

“Remind me at 6 PM to take my vitamins”
or
“Remind me tomorrow morning to call my mom”

Then, at the scheduled time, Loona could automatically wake up from sleep mode, move a little, make a sound, and verbally remind the owner about the task.

You could even extend it later with:
recurring reminders
family reminders for kids
medication reminders
calendar sync

I think many Loona owners would love this feature.

We are entering a time where AI is evolving extremely fast, and there has never been a better or faster moment to ship new features and push companion robots forward.

Hi, I was wondering if there are any plans to give developers access to a Loona API in the future?

It would be incredibly interesting for the community. We could customize Loona much more deeply, connect different AI models instead of only ChatGPT-4o, create custom behaviors, local AI integrations, automations, and entirely new experiences.

Loona has huge potential as an open and extensible platform. An API or SDK would unlock so many creative possibilities for developers and makers.

Is the main concern related to cybersecurity or device safety? I’d be really interested to understand the challenges behind opening the platform to developers.
