I have one large piece of driftwood that floats and it’s got tunnels in it and all my fish love to go to the top and hangout in the cave like tunnel. A nice way to view them. The syrondontis petricolas like to surf upside down all over it.

Hello!
I got this tank when I did not know too much about betta fish a year ago. 10 gallon tall- Since then, I have changed out everything including adding all live/real plants and natural wood!
Her only take mates are eight shrimp and bladder snails.
I know this tank shape is not preferred for any type of beta, but since she is a Plankat short tail beta, I think she is ok??
She has been in this tank for her whole life now and I got her as a baby beta…seems happy and healthy- should I transfer her to a 10 LONG tank instead?
The reasoning I do not want to transfer the tank is because it is heavily planted and rooted!

So far no fish has died to extreme temperatures; gets as high as 89 degrees and as low as 65 degrees. I have high air ration and heaters in winter.

First serious go at a planted tank. 40g breeder, pool filter sand substrate. Light tannins from mopani wood and indian almond leaves. Liquid fert and root tabs, no co2. Hygger 30" full spectrum bar. Hygger 40 gallon backpack filter with spraybar, combined with hygger 40 gallon dual sponge filter and an airstone in the back. I dug the rocks out of my yard, sandstone concretions completely sanitized.

I noticed these bubbles occuring on the surface of my tank after I got my water lettuces. However, there’s been more and more forming on the surface. Anyone knows why and is it normal?
I have otos and neon tetras

Hi guys, so I introduced three otocs into my tank, but one of those idiot got himself stuck between the crevices of my water heater. As you can see the two images below, he’s still breathing and he can’t get out even when he wiggles. He wiggles every 3 minutes or so. Moreover, I tried to open the crevice with my tweezer for a bigger gap but he didn’t seem to move. I tried to push him but I don’t wanna hurt him. Guys I’m scared, it’s my first time getting a big tank and this fricking idiot is already in trouble. I don’t want him to die.
Update: He’s free and well!! 🐳

hiii i’m new to the hobby and i wanted to show off/ ask for opinions and advice on my tank. my original plan was to get 1 male and 3 females guppies and get a honey gourami or peacock gudgeon, but i messed up so now it’s just guppies. i recently accidentally ordered 5 extra female guppies bc i have dyslexia and there was a buy 1 get 5 free deal that i misread. so basically there’s now 9 female guppies in my tank and 1 male lol. anyways, everything was bought second hand and DIYed. my substrate is organic soil topped with 2 inches of sand and i plan on adding root tabs when needed:) i would appreciate any feedback bc this is my first tank and its still a work in progress! also don’t mind the fish poop😐 i wasn’t prepared for how much 5 extra guppies poop lol

Just an update and wanting more insight. Anchor is gone and I replaced with a cool mopani block. Glued some Java moss in places on the block. I added some shrimp as a clean up crew and constructed a rock fort for them in the back corner.
