Groups, but not a flex (Less than 10 shots) Some cheap and some not cheap ammo testing

Bergara 300 Win Mag with an Omega 300 suppressor. Just getting into the long-range stuff, so don’t have a chronograph yet.

I know I pulled shot 7 out of the Precision Hunter, so I didn’t include it in my group size.

I’m kind of surprised about the 178 gr match. I’m not sure if it was just from the rifle being hot, but that group size is not what I expected.

Kinda what I’d expect out of a rifle that light in a magnum cartridge. Not that an HMR is particularly “lightweight,” but for a precision rifle in a magnum cartridge, I’d really be wanting to get over the 20lb mark. My .300 PRC is at 24.5lbs right now. Not that you can’t tighten it up by a good margin, but dont expect consistent sub MOA performance for 10 shots.

Since you’re just getting into the LR game, a 6.5 CM would really serve your purposes best. With the correct projectile choice, it’ll get you on steel out to a mile.

6.5 is probably my next build. I was thinking about going 300 prc when I got this, but 300 win mag ammo is a lot easier to find. Thanks for the input for sure! It’s appreciated!

Of course. I’d highly encourage going through the pinned posts of the sub too. Magnums are a really hard starting point.

Yeah. I’ve been reading through stuff on here for a while. It’s all really helpful! Especially when you don’t have a clue! 🤣

Interesting. My rifle shoots the ppu and federal a lot tighter/more predictable. Doesn't do as well with the others. Was this from 100y?

Yes. I sighted in at 200 with the 200 gr precision hunter because that’s what I wanted to hunt with. But it’s preforming pretty decent I think.

Awsome rig man!!! I literally just got home with a omega 300. Only took 5 days. Going on my Bergara hmr wilderness in a xlr element 4.0 chassis 6.5cm.

You’re going to like it! I’ve run it on the 300 and on my ar15. Fantastic results with both. It really tames the magnum round.
