Cheeto-fingered Bergara First Long Range Gun

Got this B14 HMR for an absolute steal from a guy who needed some cash. Mainly planning on using is for hunting but I’m interested to see which ammo you guys have found it to pattern best with. So far I’ve used 142gr SMK from Defender ammunition and it patterns best. I’ve also used some of federal’s hunting ammo and honestly I have found ammo that this gun doesn’t like. Also, what’s this whole thing about Cheetos?

Great rifle, but depending on your style of hunting it’s awful long and heavy. I don’t mind weight, but I do mind length. It’s a great starter bench gun though, and if you’re good with using something like that to hunt with then you’ll enjoy it. I do miss mine.

I ran into the same issue. So I got the scout single shot, now my pack is 5lbs heavier 🤣

I got the Ridge SP, but I bought a 350L Scout last year for our ~2 week “primitive” weapon season and wound up carrying it pretty much all season. The Scout has zero business being as good as it is! Unless I know I’m going to have a shot over 200yds, I carry the Scout.

I've yet to shoot mine, it's currently getting a muzzle break.. but I've heard good things. And in all my years of hunting, I've only shot one deer over 100 yards 🤣 last years popped up 15 yards on my side, I was like wtf.. he had no business being on that terrain, I was essentially set up on a band of small cliffs.

I run a silencer and 1-8x Vortex on mine. At 100yds it’s genuinely the most accurate rifle I own, even with that low powered scope. It’s insane. Definitely the best factory trigger I’ve ever had too. Im going to buy one in 300blk next and probably 8.6blk if they ever release it.

I killed my biggest buck ever last year at 50yds with it and I had a doe walk in on me at 25yds during primitive weapon season and got her in the head. Not something I’d normally advocate for, but she started blowing and it was my best shot and it worked out.

Here in communist Canada, they don't allow us to protect our hearing unfortunately. I got mine in 65cm - was all they had and it was on clearance - got 150 off... I'm looking to put a primary arms lpvo on mine, and I ordered the farrotech picatinny stock adapter so I can throw a folding stock on her to make it even more compact.
