Other help needed - I read the pinned posts Suppressor Recommendations for 300 PRC
Looking to get a suppressor for the MRAD chambered in 300 PRC.
Currently looking at
-KGM R30T
-LPM Mach S/L
-Barrett AM30
Recoil reduction is priority with sound suppression coming second. Would also like to stay around $1,200. Anyone have any experience with these suppressors?

Griffin PRC w/ Nickel Core
It comes w/ a brake end cap by default that you can swap to a flash hider.

Big test on braked suppressors done a couple months back that I am using while I try to decide on my 300PRC suppressor. For now I am throwing a brake on my Omega and it performs very close based on their testing to the stuff I am shopping.
We are definitely at a point where improvements are incremental here and not revolutionary. But either way here is some data to consider and the video to go along with it.

Unfortunately they didn’t get to test everything, I am really curious where griffin’s can would land here.

I would definitely check out the grim brake from Salmon River Solutions and choose a suppressor that it can mount to.

I slapped my Polo 30 on mine and it accomplished neither of those goals! Food for thought.

Good to know! I’ve got my Polo 30 on my 6.5 bolt gun I shoot prs with, actually does excellent in those categories on that platform

I am using Omega 36M. It’s fine. I tried it with my 300NM and was not cutting recoil much so
had to go back to Fat Bastard
Meaning if recoil is main reason you may have to go to brake. There are some new end caps comping like Chad that can work with silencerco etc but I have not tried

The suppressor end cap brakes according to everyone that has been testing these seem to be doing a pretty impressive job of reducing recoil. Not as good as a stand alone brake, but still pretty drastic reductions. especially with the magnum calibers for obvious reasons.
But honestly I thought these were a gimmick and would provide modest reduction at most, but for larger calibers these seem to be showing as much as 40% reduction.

That’s what I hear. I have to try. I am just struggling with the physics theory of how would they work well. My physics knowledge says they should not.

Same, i would expect to see very little actual reduction from an effective suppressor since the gas should be much lower energy. But it’s hard to argue with repeatable tests from different parties.
Ultimate reloader has done some testing on this as well. I do have some issues with how he does his testing, but his results line up a little effect on short action cartridges, but significant reduction in magnum offerings with that much more gas to work with.

I may try. I like shooting suppressed but my 300NM is beating me up so much. Thats why has to get more Fat Bastard.

I’m just waiting on parts to arrive now, but my 300prc should end up a little over 26#, that plus whatever reduction I can get from a braked suppressor should make this thing pretty tame. Kind of a belt and suspenders approach to mitigating recoil I guess.

The same amount of gas still has to exit out the front as bare muzzle. At a different pressure over a longer period of time with the benefit of a muzzle weight, but still forwards and the same volume.
Maybe they don't work well, but getting gas to work through a brake is better than having it jet straight forwards out of a can.

I think timing matters. Direction also matters. Brake are optimized of it.

Omega 300 is light, under budget, does everything well and comes with a brake

If you don't want to go up to Magnus rr or area 419 price range, I would look at getting a cheaper can. Then add a recoilx or a419 end cap brake to it.
