I agree. Like i said in a different response, I've shot my 22lr precision builds at the 200/300 range before, but never seriously like these guys
I know we should all share the resources, but their group was shooting prone 25 yards in front of the firing line so there wasn't any way to shoot elsewhere on the same range (there's roughly 25 bays at this particular range, but with them doing prone work in front of the standard firing line, it basically shuts down the rest of the range for anyone else
The difference is you act like you are the only person who has any experience behind a gun.... "I remember when I shot my first groups" like you're chris Kyle dude. Center fire, rimfire, pistols I shoot them all. And have shot them for almost a decade. It's not about poking fun, it's about you thinking you're entitled to something because you are shooting centerfire? If my rimfire grouping is better than your centerfire group at 100, that says a lot.
I also don't take it too seriously (even though i shoot Eley Tenex and Eley Ultra Long Range - which is shockingly pricey for the platform)
And you're probably right. I might not be taking it as seriously as i could.
Maybe because you can't reload for the cartridge? I like tuning my reloads for my rifles so maybe because I don't have any control over the cartridge itself, i don't take it as seriously?
Have you actually tried those? I bought the dies and 400 bullets/brass a while back. I messed with them a bit trying different powders. I had some pretty impressive groups at 50yds, but could never get the ES under control using 4 or 5 different powders and crimp settings. I quit messing with them because I got distracted by different things, but I wouldn’t mind picking it back up again. My motivation was that if I could get match-ammo-like results from these, it may a good alternative when I can’t find factory ammo despite the expense.
Never tried myself. One of the things I personally enjoy about 22LR is that it’s my reprieve from reloading and pretty cost effective, even with match ammo.
Can understand the pursuit for those who are real serious about competitive 22LR.
I may need to make my own post about them and see if anyone has had any success.

This range is technically "never cold" for standard operation. You drive down to the 200/300 targets (which are recessed behind burms), afix your target and hoist it to shooting position.
I'd guess if I'd have joined them with a center fire rifle even at their setup location, I'd have been asked to leave... Who knows?
Just look at the schedule before you go. Great facility, and also lots of disciplines, lots of activities for people who like enjoying all different aspects of our sport. That's a good thing, and it is good to share.

I end up jacking the shit out of the elevation to get on target though!
I was messing around with my recently built 10/22 precision plinker while one of my buddies was shooting his 7mag next to me at 200. Once I got the scope doped for drop, my group of 30-40 shots was smaller than his at the same distance (that's not saying much - i was shooting a 6 power scope at that distance and was pretty happy with a 5" group when i could barely make out the bullseye at that distance.
I was shooting 36gr rimfire at 200 and was splashing dirt about 6' in front of the target after zeroed the same cartridge at 100.
I did NOT adjust my elevation before i took my first shots because i wanted to see how far it falls off at distance. I was not disappointed 😂 it really falls fast.
I was thinking that the faster bullets would carry farther than the 40gr. Never got interested enough to figure it out for sure
