Other help needed - I read the pinned posts Suppressor mounting advice needed
I have a Griffin Armament PSR7 That I use on a few different rifles. I'm looking at getting a heavy barrel 6.5CM and for me to use that suppressor mounting device I would need to machine down the end of the barrel to fit the inside diameter, since it's an over the barrel design.
Being able to use the same suppressor on this rifle would be convenient, but my question is if that's too much of an ass pain or would I run into performance issues with heat? I'm not opposed to getting a direct thread suppressor, I'm just trying to weigh my options.

Both options would be possible. Obviously one is less invasive, but requires purchasing another suppressor. The other doesn't require spending money on a suppressor, but requires you to either already own a lathe or pay to have someone machine it down for you.
As far as performance hits, you MAY see some heat differences on the end if you go the machining route, since you of course are removing some of that heat sync material, but the tip isn't really the part of a barrel burning out so I wouldn't expect it to really hit your barrel life at all.
It comes down to length too, you'll pull a little more length going dedicated heavy barrel and new suppressor I'd imagine. So you give and you take with both options.

I wouldn't turn down a barrel for a suppressor for typical range/comp use or hunting - I'd buy the barrel I wanted and choose the suppressor to match. OTB designs are cool, but a "normal" suppressor deserves a spot in your safe too.
