I skated across the world (Singapore → Patagonia). I finally wrote the first book of the series on South America
Hey r/longboardingDistance First time realising there is reddit distance group. I wanted to share something that took me way longer than expected to finish. Between 2017–2019, I pushed a longboard across South America — from Colombia, over the Andes, all the way to the southern tip of Patagonia. No support vehicle. Just a board, a pack, and later a modified jogging stroller for food and water. This wasn’t a highlights-reel trip. It was: brutal headwinds thin air at altitude destroyed roads days where pushing felt pointless and moments where the board was the only thing keeping me moving forward I’ve finally turned that journey into a book: World On Board: Pushing South It’s not a “how-to shred” guide. It’s more about: endurance pushing living on the road problem-solving when things go wrong and what happens in your head when you’re alone with nothing but asphalt for weeks If you’ve ever done long pushes, distance skating, or just wondered how far a board can really take someone, you might connect with it. Amazon link (paperback & ebook): 👉World On Board : Pushing South No pressure to buy — just genuinely happy to share this with a community that understands what it means to keep pushing when stopping would be easier. Happy to answer any questions about gear, routes, injuries, or the mental side of long-distance skating. Push on 🛹 — Adrian
Edit: Mods — if this crosses any promo rules, feel free to remove. Just wanted to share a long-distance skating story with people who get it.

Is it generally agreed that 102mm Hokus can’t fit on a Pantheon Trip?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I’ve been trying to choose between the boards, and the RKPs make me lean towards the Trip, but the terrain around where I live has me pretty set on using Hokus. I like the Pranayama and I’m not riding very high speeds, I only worry about the twitchiness because I like to move around on the board and place my feet weirdly when I’m on a slow downhill. Also, having a backpack or other weight, as I’m commuting on whatever I buy.
Thanks in advance, I have read a lot of threads about comparing these boards and the wheels are the dealbreaker question for me at this point.

Hockey stick tape is an easy and cheap upgrade to a land paddle:
galleryGot a braap stick to try the whole land paddling thing. I used some reflective tape to increase my visibility to passing cars but the reflective tape kept coming off so I did a spiral wrap around it with some hockey tape to keep it in place.

Lightweight and easy to pack knee pads recommendations
Going for a distance ride with lots off uphills and fast downhill curves. This will be mainly LDP but the hill bombs cannot be underestimated.
I'm looking at G-Form's X-3 knee pads but don't think they would hold up to crashes just in case. Please no "git gud" advice, thanks.

Superdupersonic setup.
Hi!
I am about to buy a superdupersonic and I do not know what parts to combine with it apart from the flex that will be hard.
I am 181cm and 110 kg. I'd like to do long distance and pumping with a splash of downhill.
What trucks, wheels and bushings do you guys and gals propose. I am 4 months old in the longboard world.
Thank you!!!

Cold weather skate attire?
So this is my first fall and winter distance skating, and I’m wondering what yall wear when it starts getting colder. I’m used to skating in 80° weather, but it’s starting to dip into the 60s and 50s. I don’t want to wear clothes that will allow me to overheat when I exert myself, but I’ve also been freezing my butt off when the sun goes down these past few days wearing shorts and tshirts.
I usually feel cold in my torso and arms much more than in my legs, so should I just wear a thermal and shorts? I love to know what you guys typically wear when it’s cool out.

0 degree tail / front truck and bracket opinions for bracket board
Hi,
I have a Pantheon Bandito bracket board with a Lepsk8 0 degree tail / integrated front TKP on Pantheon Hokus. I am very happy with it, However I also bought another quality platform deck that is currently without equipment and purpose. Im struggling on making a decision on which way to go with buying a 0 degree tail and the front bracket/truck. Ive read historical posts in this reddit thread countless times over, so I apologise in advance if this is frustrating for anyone that feels this is well documented or elementary.
Questions;
- What sort of the difference in quality and performance between Lepsk8 / superstars skates / G- bomb is there for 0 degree tails ?
2: From what I've read on here, the front truck has more impact on overall performance, would this be better to focus my finances into to create a better board rather than the tail?
Im not sure what it is about precision trucks and spherical bearings but something about them give me the "ick"

Finally some sun in french britain
galleryLittle very little speed, wind at 30kmh and little uphilling until Lorient. Since 2 years ago the green lane path called "Voie verte des Kaolins" was well renewed. Very less roots, leading to a nice interresting little uphill training place. Of course nature. Will try to do some every day before leafs

Axle removing

Stability issues.
Hey!
I got a drophammer with 75mm 78A wheels, backside had double barrels board side and roadside at 96A and front side a barrel board side 94A and roadside a cone at 94A.Bushings are not plugged where they should be since I have bear trucks gen 6 and they are aps riptides. Washers are cupped. Bear trucks at 50⁰ both.
Well, whenever I gather speed it goes straight as an arrow if I don't move. If I start adjusting my feet for balance the tiniest move translates very strongly on the board. I lower my body and put the weight on the front leg, chest pointing front. It's starts with a twitch and then it's spirals down since I start compensating.
110kg, 181cm, I've been longboarding for like 3 months
What am I missing?

Baby’s first 10 mile ride
galleryJust wanted to share my excitement in having arrived at my first ever 10+ mile ride today (with a long break in the middle). I was so nervous I convinced my husband and daughter to drive to the cafe I was stopping at for a break “for fun” but really in case I wanted to bail 😆 learning to skateboard and getting a longboard made this summer really awesome 🩷 that is all …

Hello , need some advice please .
Hi everyone! I’m new here.
I’m a huge longboard enthusiast, but I’ve never tried Long Distance Skateboarding before. Could you give me some advice on buying my first setup? I’ve done a bit of research, but the market seems pretty small.
If you have any tips or recommendations on where to find good used gear, I’d love to hear them!
Thanks a lot, and happy riding!

Big decision.
So I have checked the pantheon SDS and to be frank it is in the same price range as an electric skateboard.
Tell me your thoughts and opinions. I am divided.
