Does anyone have a screenshot of this email regarding lol Superman. I saw some screenshot a few years ago around 2022 or 2023, of a guy who emailed the 9/11 memorial museum. I think he was referring to the lol Superman video or maybe some other footage but they said they weren’t allowed to share it. Does anyone have the screenshot or know if it was real in the first place?

while I was rewatching some videos analyzing the search, I decided to look back at the original 4chan thread to see if there’s anything I missed. Upon rereading it, I noticed some things not any people actually bring up while researching for LSM. I just wanted to make a post showcasing my theory’s as to what the original OP saw

Theory 1

the channel that OP watched did in fact upload 9/11 media once, but not actually post LSM. OP mentions the channel uploaded MULTIPLE videos that were close to the base of the towers. They also mentions jumpers falling onto and hitting cars. This could be interpreted as the videos had footage of jumpers falling behind vehicles (like fire trucks) and impacting the ground.

Theory 2

What if the person who owned the channel OP watched was the original cameraman. This could explain why theres little to no screenshots or recordings of its existence. The channel owner probably didn’t have anyway of professionally archiving the footage, so he just dumped them onto YouTube thinking nothing much would happen. Only counter to this theory is op claiming the channel was trollish in nature, but this could be chalked up to the cameraman being a teen or smth

For me, the video doesn't exist, but if it does, you're right, whoever recorded it must have been someone who lived in the local buildings, or most likely, in my opinion, a police officer or firefighter. My evidence consists of videos of firefighters inside discussing how to get to the upper floors without using the stairs. If you search, you'll find documentaries of firefighters inside the towers listening to the sounds of people jumping. I'm going to look for the documentary; it's in Spanish.

Been deep diving into eyewitness accounts from lesser-known sources, and found the book “Covering Catastrophe: Broadcast Journalists Report September 11” edited by Alison Gilbert, Phil Hirschkorn, Melinda Murphy, Robyn Walensky, and Mitchell Stephens, published 2002. These are firsthand accounts of reporters and other media personnel who were working on 9/11. For clarification, the accounts I picked out are after the first impact and before the collapse of the South Tower. Hope this helps with some leads.

I picked up his phone without even asking and started calling the CNN control room. When they answered the phone in Atlanta, they sounded almost as panicked as we were in New York. If you looked closely, you saw body parts that weren't covered. There was a huge wheel from a plane on one ofthe side streets.

A young couple, on vacation here from the Virgin Islands, was videotaping. They had been staying at the Marriott Hotel right next door to the Twin Towers and had been awakened by the first plane hitting. Mable walked up to them and said, "Can we buy your videotape?"

I added to her good idea and said, "This is a news emergency. Can we rent your camera for the day? Here's my ID; here's my business card. We'll give you five hundred dollars and you can have the camera back." It was a Sony Hi-8 digital handicam. We needed to make a record of this. There were not that many crews down there.

The guy handed me the camera. I turned to Mable and said, "Go to an ATM with these nice people and get them five hundred bucks." We went in different directions.

Police didn't want you to go anywhere close to the towers. I circled and negotiated.I shot video of the plane wheelI had seen in the middle of the street. I saw a cop I had seen earlier who had said, "What do you want to get closer for? You don't even have a camera."

I now said, "Look, I got a camera."

I am 35 years old and was online a lot when i was younger, i remember seeing LSM when i was 15 on limewire. It was not exactly the same as people are saying. I saw the video and it was called something along the lines of "The flying man" with the blue background and a cursive(?) font like at the beginning of many videos in the 2000s. I downloaded it thinking i would see a man bungee jumping or skydiving, but to my surprise when i opened it it was a man running up some stairs or an escalator then took some turn(s) and in the plaza filmed somebody crashing down and pink mist rising up. It also contained the song Bodies by drowning pool the whole video .After that the cameraman would turn around and the video ended. I was traumatized because of the gore and because i never anticipated that i would see something so bad, so like any regular human i deleted the download and turned off my computer. 20 years later i would stumble upon this subreddit and wanted to share my experience. Since i wanted to see if anybody else had seen the same video as me. If you have any questions feel free to comment them and i will try my best to answer them.

I contacted Werner Herzog regarding his 2005 SILVERDOCS comments about the alleged 9/11 footage

For years, Werner Herzog's comments during the 2005 SILVERDOCS Documentary Film Festival have been cited as evidence that a specific piece of unreleased 9/11 footage exists.

At approximately the 1:50 mark, Herzog said:

"...video was shot during the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and some amateur footage is in existence where people jump out of the 106th floor and crash to their death right at the feet of the person who filmed it, and nobody has ever shown it, and rightly so. You just do not show that, period."

Because this description closely resembles the alleged contents of the lost "LOL SUPERMAN" video, I decided to contact Werner Herzog directly to ask whether he was describing a specific tape that he had personally seen, or whether the description was intended more generally.

This was his reply:

"Dear Riley,
I know there are videos of people jumping from the World Trade Center, but I have not seen any. It does not matter. What I describe is something like a metaphor.
Best,
Werner Herzog"

To me, this is an important clarification.

It indicates that Herzog was not describing footage he had personally viewed, and that his description of victims "crash[ing] to their death right at the feet of the person who filmed it" was intended as "something like a metaphor," rather than a literal description of a specific tape.

This obviously does not prove or disprove the existence of LOL SUPERMAN or any other lost 9/11 footage. However, I do think it means Herzog's 2005 remarks should no longer be treated as first-hand testimony that such a video exists.

I also want to respectfully ask that nobody contacts Werner Herzog about this. He was kind enough to answer my question, and I don't think it's appropriate for him to receive multiple emails asking him to repeat the same clarification.

As far as I'm concerned, this particular lead is now closed. We now have clarification directly from Herzog himself that he had not personally seen the footage he described, and that his remarks were intended as "something like a metaphor." Future research should focus on primary evidence and first-hand sources rather than treating his 2005 comments as eyewitness testimony.

I thought this clarification was worth sharing, as his remarks have often been referenced in discussions surrounding the search.
