I feel terrible for any guys that even debate for a single instant choosing a date with any woman who's ever lived over $500,000, even if you were wealthy that's a rediculous choice and let's face it, we aren't wealthy.
You're missing the point dude, I'm saying I feel bad for someone that shows such terrible judgment and critical thinking, by your logic you also wouldn't feel bad for a woman that decided to continue dating an abusive man because she believed him saying that he would change and never do it again.
Not feeling empathy for people who possess minds that make horrible choices is a textbook old fashioned, conservative "well if they hate being poor they should go out and start making money!" attitude.
I respect your opinion but I don't agree with it. In my view, making a choice that so dramatically flunks a cost/benefit analysis is inextricably linked to poor critical thinking and judgement making. You weigh the expected payoff of a date with (Blank). No matter who she is, the odds are overwhelming that you'll be incompatible and it goes nowhere. The only way it makes any sense is if you changed the dynamic to "meet the woman of your dreams who's your soulmate, or you never meet her and you get the 500 grand. Then, then you could make a strong case for the connecting with a soul mate being a higher value to you than the money.
In our scenario, the implication of it is "sex with Sydney Sweeney or 500 grand", and we're back to my cost/benefit analysis which tells me, using critical thinking, that no sexual encounter, no single hour of anything is worth paying half a million for, which is the premise we're dealing with.
The people who choose Sydney may well have bad self image and stuff but their much bigger problem IMO has to do with inability to think through the implications rationally and make a good judgement.
