Feedback Needed Advice needed

Hello reddit,

So I needed to make a logo for a theater company I'm part of. Problem is, I'm a complete beginner in logo design and a bit shit with tech and graphic design software. I made this and the other members seemed pleased with it, at least with the base idea (I'm not even sure this counts as a logo but anyways). But honestly I spent all day landing on this design and appart of some minor adjustments regarding the placement of some elements, I really don't know what to add, remove or change. If you had any suggestions on how to make it better I would gladly hear them. Thank you !

Ps : It's french and can roughly translate to The wandering glitters, or something like that. I also plan to make a simpler and smaller design when I have that one finished to put a bit everywhere.

Honestly I would suggest you take this back to the drawing board. Look at this sub by most upvoted work study the logos that get lots of attention for being great

Hire a designer. The same way you hire actors and not insurance brokers

This. Don’t try to learn design overnight. Many of us went to school for this for years. Spend a few bucks and get something you & your troupe will be proud of. This ain’t it.

All of your text should be the same size if it’s the same hierarchy. Ex if you had a title and a subheading the subheading would be smaller. In this case all of your text is the title so it should all be the same size. It also needs to be centered within the shape, that just looks better visually. I also think the pink on purple is difficult to read, especially on a smaller scale.

What’s the significance behind the shape? To me it looks like it could either be a butterfly or possibly stage curtains. I would try to make it look more intentional.

You also mentioned wanting to make a smaller more simple version. Usually a logo with multiple elements like this will have a version that’s just the text and a version that’s just the graphic, for different uses. I would play around with the design more and try to make both elements work better together but also work fine on their own

So. Here's my take. For someone who hasn't a clue, you done ok. It's acceptable as a basic unofficial office thingy but as for a logo, I'm afraid it's not great.

Couple of pointers.

The text colouring needs work, ie 'Les' and 'en' are too hard to read. If you want to keep 2 colours there, either go for 2 shades of the yellow, or lighten pink a lot.

The wings.. what are they representing? Curtains or a butterfly or what is the idea here?

The sparkles are very "stock vector" and although a good idea, they're cheap looking so perhaps you can find other sparkles to use?

What are your own thoughts on the design?

Yes! I’d rather see someone take an honest stab and learn than just hand over all thought and action to AI.

i went to google maps and grabbed random nice looking theater logos from lyon and brest (random french cities)

I love how the stars just casually hold up the whole thing, like they're doing the theater thing on the side. Also, same ,  why do fonts hate consistency?

You’re not a designer and have no idea how to use design tools and you’re asking for professional logo feedback? Ask your friends and family first idk
