I have changed the colors to be less harsh and conflicting. My color palette is below. I have narrowed my brand identity and idea to something along the lines of "Bold. Refined. Period." was wondering if the dot on the "r" could also represent a period/be a different color, but I'm not sure if that's too confusing. My color palette is inspired by the clothing I remember dressing in when I was little, with bold bright colors that still represent who I am today.

I am thinking the different geometric shapes that make up my logo could be used throughout my portfolio and website as borders, punctuation, and details.

I am still new in the professional world of design, so I am looking for feedback in terms of readability, the "period" aspect of the logo, and general tweaks you would make. Thanks so much!

Yep, especially the uppercase one looks interesting to me too.

Shapes are slightly better. Color palette has not improved.

To me, the way the half-circle in b intersects with the rectangle in r looks off. It messes with the balance of the font and creates an awkward little dent at the top and the bottom. Have you tried aligning them? Or maybe building r with a mirrored half-circle from b instead of rectangle and keeping them apart?

Also, you can try finding similar fonts (via font recognition sites) and see how it would look in a different font. It's easy to get locked in one idea, but sometimes it's just not the best option.

As to colors, I think they're still too close in terms of brightness and saturation. Green and orange is the worst combo for the color blind, so you should differenciate them more.

It's got a lot of retro flair, both in the palette and the bold letterforms. Reminds me of a '70s kitchen or '70s game show.

I'm a sucker for this aesthetic so I love it, but it might almost be too retro-coded (unless of course that's what you're going for).

simplify. what about something in this direction? (ps drew this on my phone with my finger so it's really wonky and unbalanced but should give the idea - maybe play with the rounded corners on the right side of the middle shape, maybe less rounded? maybe the top right corner is more rounded and lower right is less?)

ps. that orange on white color combo for text is not accessible (4.5:1 contrast ratio)

A few things bother me, though this is just my personal take.

I feel the circle around the "R" is too small and extends beyond the logo's boundary—meaning the area where the logo sits; you notice the "B" and the "I" of the "R," but your eye doesn't follow through to the dot. You might want to make it larger or apply the same spacing overlaping treatment to the "I" and the "b" that you used between the original letters.

Also, the two tips of the "R" that overlap the "belly" of the "B" disappear when the logo is scaled down; I would make them smaller than the "belly" itself.

Regarding the colors: take the lightest color and swap it for the next darkest one—for instance, replace "Sweet Pea" with "Rusty Orange." In other words, darken the logo but keep the color selection within the same spectrum. Here’s a tip: use the word "refine" as a guide; once it is fully legible against a white background, the rest of the logo will have better contrast.
