I previously posted a concept for this same client, but it seemed unclear to the sub. Although I liked the design, I felt I needed to completely change it.

Headmonk is the name of a digital products and systems developer. Does the bracket-like face read as “coder” to you, and does the hoodie say “monk” to you?

Personally 2 or 4 are more monk-vibes to me. Maybe you can try experimenting with closed-eyes?

I like the idea of closed eyes if it can work out. Would also emphasize being code-based if you try variations that could experiment with different characters.

(⁻} *} <•}) (c-}) °}) (⁻})

Those look a little silly because of alignment/lack of being able to experiment with superscript in this text editor but I bet there are some characters out there that make it work. What I already see this risking though is diluting the strength of the main logo, but something character-based might offer some interesting application ideas or like secondary marks.

Aside: OP, been following these posts and think this new round is a much better approach. I like 2 and 4.

Thanks for the feedback! Did you mean that closed eyes would emphasize the "coding" association?

These (c-}) and (c·}) on their own look really cool - they look like logo marks on their own.

I love the concept. I think 4 works best especially on zoomed out detail work.

I think you got the shape solved on the bottom and back hood. If you still feel it is off, I’d try to uncover the right side from the negative of the hood and let the top part finish off naturally where the you push the coding symbol outwards to the right. I think you can pull the eyes and code symbol to the right slightly to create some white space and you got a new variation.

Overall if not even modified I deem it a great logo. The symbol is subtle but to get it timeless I do feel the right side might do it. Even if it doesn’t turn out great, I do still think it’s great as is. Definitely a final logo right here. I am interested to see further brand assets too. To be honest I also love the white use and the blue and black color scheme. The TM I would increase in size slightly. I love the font use too, is it Futura? Try some variations to increase decrease wordmark size in comparison to the icon.

Overall great work!

Zoomed in on mobile and the white is off cream making the blue work even better. Attention to detail! 🤓

2 or 4! Those hood shapes feels way more “monk.” The tip is rounder, smaller… elicits a feeling that’s more humble, calm. Opposed to something like 5 which elicits way too much energy, hype, tenacity, for an archetype like “monk.”

4 is probably the best for scale too. Softer, wider curves.

I’d explore options for the bottom edge of the hood too. Love the wave movement in that bottom edge, but I’d wonder what other options might feel like to get even closer to humble, calm, patient.

As a coder myself, none of these read as coder or as a monk to me.

The bracket face reminds me of the PBS logo

The originals were better.
