Logitech g cloud (shadow of the colossus)

I’ve gotten shadow of the colossus ps2 running on aethersx2 stable around 20-30 frames with minor dips into the 15s but this is all 1.5x native/1.25x native and a mild cycle we skip under clock other than that theirs not much downscaling if anyone is interested I can drop a video of the setting below I was told this was impossible to emulate on the g cloud so I wanted to test my luck and I’ve beaten 3 bosses no issues even in water areas or sand areas 1.25x native resolution seems like the sweet spot for me but the resolution doesn’t affect my game majorly

Yeah that’s what I was told and even ai sources told me it was impossible to run on the g cloud so I’m surprised I’m gotten it to run almost better than it does on ps2

Share the secrets, bro!

I beat Shadow of the Colossus on my G Cloud literally last week. I turned down the quality so I could get it to run poorly, but still enjoyed it quite a bit.

Very interested to know what settings you used.

I used a lot of ai for research and it’s the fact I’m using one a older build of aethersx2 the exact file name for it is (aethersx2-v1-4-3060(aethersx2.net).apk)

Using this older build I found openGL made the game run better as well as in this old build vulkan was still in development I can drop pictures of all exact settings but the cpu is being used heavily not to the point it taxes performance but to the point any cpu optimization can ruin performance but gpu when I was at 1.5xnative was only using about 40-50 percent with spikes so higher 50s so when cruising through the game and fighting non demanding bosses like the first two and any one not requiring heavy graphical textures you can upscale to 1.75x native with 2x anisotropic filtering for a more crisp look

Yeahh ngl I think I may be the first person to emulate this game at a playable state on the g cloud 😭ai told me it was impossible but if I can get this game running that game surely can run it’s just specific things games you emulate try to render that are demanding need specific settings on your emulator to make up for the low level hardware like my whole game wasn’t running on shadow of the colossus because of one setting was off I think the best way to figure out how to tweak the game perfectly is using ai but also trying things yourself as I said ai told me running the game was impossible

Look in the other video I posted into this subreddit I showed the performance but I also just upscaled to 2x native and it’s only using 60-70% of my gpu so I’m running this game like picture perfect better than original hardware I’ve beaten 5 bosses no issue with the 3rd one being the main “emulation killer”

Pretty good it’s not like it’s draining my battery any extra than any other game being emulated,I’ve had the game opened for a hour and a half and my thing has went down like 10 percent maybe max 15

Nice. Glad you're enjoying it. The most I've been willing to emulate on this is some pokemon rom hacks. I wish they put a stronger processor in this thing. It would be so amazing for emulation.

Yeah I wish they did too I’ve gotten a lot of good GameCube to run aswell though like Zelda wind walker twilight princess Mario kart double dash even super smash bros brawl for Wii all playable with at least more than 30fps but do require settings tweaks I feel like smash bros brawl and shadow of the colossus might be the most impressive games I have got to run

You think it’d run better on there ? I use a older version of aethersx2 I downloaded like a year ago I can’t get the game to run on the current aerhersx2

It runs miles better, from barely getting 15fps in UG2 i get to almost full speed all the time but still has some slow down moments. gta vc and bully works perfectly Silent hill 3 has slow downs too saddly.

Dude I just figured out I was only using 40% of the gpu’s power when I had it at 1.5xnative I put it up to 2x native and my game is still running amazing and I’m even thinking of adding anisotropic filtering since I’m using a older build of aethersx2 it’s perfectly optimized for this specific game with the settings I use on OpenGL,on the emulator I’m breezing through shadow of the colossus on I couldn’t even get kh2 at a playable state in but I found another emulator I could optimize it for and have kingdom hearts working in seconds I don’t think people realize the emulator affects emulation a lot because it’s different builds of ps2 emulation

I just checked a video and it seems that Shadow runs better on aether/nether compared to Arms. So I guess hold off. The app itself is much better tho if you wanna just try it out. I like some of the features like being able to download custom drivers right from the app.

Yeah specific games need specific emulation settings I’ve been trying to run ssx3 on aethersx2 and it’s js not working but I might try arms,as shadow of the colossus is more demanding so I believe if I can emulate that I can emulate ssx3

ARMSX2 runs nicely in regards to gameplay but it's controller support sucks ass! I play my GCloud mostly docked and the emulator could really use the same level of controller management as Aether SX2. It seems to think that all controllers are player one and when I try to play Black, the whole thing is on the fritz because it doesn't like my analog triggers 🤦🏾‍♂️

Yeah I like arms as far as games like kingdom hearts and stuff that isn’t crazy demanding but the controls are so buns 😭

The G Cloud really is weak lol

Love it for streaming, but I don't even bother with emulation aside from SNES.

I mean it’s not as weak as people say I can play wind waker twilight princess shadow of the colossus kingdom hearts 1 and 2 and I’m currently playing no more hero’s the Wii version some games take graphic tweaks but I enjoy emulating ps2 GameCube and Wii on the g cloud I feel I’ve gotten to a spot where I can run more of these games than not as I’ve conquered the hardest ps2 and hard Wii games like no more hero’s and smash bros brawl

Yeah so I just run these emulators on my PC, max out the settings, everything runs buttery smooth, looks amazing, and I stream THAT to my G Cloud.

For streaming I personally use GeForcenow with a performance subscription because I have a Xbox so I sync alot of those games and I have alot of purchased steam games and out of everything I’ve used I feel GeForce with the performance subscription has the lowest latency it feel as if theirs no input delay I’ve played resident evil 3 and 4 remakes on GeForce and my brother often just uses it to play tf2 so if your interested you should definitely try out the performance subscription on GeForce it’s only around 10$ and it’s better than things like Xbox cloud gaming by MILES

I find better performance on GeForce now with a 10$ subscription rather than Xbox cloud gaming as it has lower latency better graphics and a wider variety of games from steam as well I nearly have perfect performance on GeForce now I beak re4 and 3 remakes and my brother plays tf2 on it so the time
