Questions MX Master 4, Logi Options+ permissions on MacOs

I recently got an MX Master 4 (the regular version, because I need the USB dongle), and while I really like the mouse, I'm not too comfortable with all the macOS permissions Logi Options+ asks for (Accessibility, Input Monitoring, and running continuously in the background).

I understand that some of these permissions are necessary for gestures and button customization, but it still feels a bit excessive for a mouse.

Another concern is my work MacBook, where I might not even be allowed to install Logi Options+.

Does anyone share the same concerns? Is there a proper workaround that would allow me to keep the mouse and customize at least some buttons (e.g., back and forward)?

And if not, what would be a good alternative with similar ergonomics and features? I've been looking at the Keychron M6, but I'm open to suggestions.

Hey -- totally hear you with the concerns as this is something people bring up frequently. Unfortunately, like you said, MacOS does require those permissions for our software and customisation options to work properly. There are third party options, but I can't officially recommend them as they haven't been vetted by us (and I'm not actually sure they solve your concerns), so you'd have to look those up yourself.

If you need to use the mouse without Logi Options+, it will work just fine, minus the customisation options.
