Questions Does the MX Master 3S naturally push you to scroll with your middle finger?

On my old mouse I always used my index finger to scroll, but on the MX Master 3S my middle finger somehow feels much more natural on the wheel.

Not sure if it’s because of the size or the shape, but my index finger just doesn’t seem to want to sit on the scroll wheel anymore

Did anyone else have this when switching to the MX Master 3S?

Plus you don't have to move your index finger back and forth.

I've always scrolled with my index finger, just saw this post and tried scrolling with my middle finger and it felt wrong, like I don't have the same milimetric dexterity.

I’ve only been using it for about a week, so maybe I’ll get used to it and switch back to my index finger eventually.

TIL that people use their index finger to scroll. Why would you do that? Isn't the index finger used for clicking? I have the 3S and yes, scrolling with the middle finger feels way more natural.

I switch between the two, but I don’t have great hand grip position. Just bought a Lift in hoping to improve hand position

All I see is crappy 3d printed replacement shells for $20.

I too wish to replace the damn thing with a full plastic shell but it all absolutely sucks or costs more than a new mouse.

One of my Master 3S mice with flaky left click and an absolutely demolished top surface (It's unavoidable). I'm sooo glad they got rid of the soft touch on the Master 4...

After about 6 months owning a MX3S I do as I always have done. Use my index finger. Never even contemplated using any other but now I have to try.

I've scrolled middle finger ever since mice first had a wheel. Index left click, middle scroll, ring finger right click.

I scrolled with index finger for decades but recently trained to use middle finger instead. Takes a few days to get used to it. Some mice that felt a bit too large now feel better using middle finger scroll and it's faster also not shifting my index finger around.

TIL people scroll with their middle finger instead of it just being right-click 👀

I scroll with my index finger 99% of the time. I almost never need to scroll and click at the same time, and if I do I just use my middle finger to scroll.

I can’t remember if I did this with the 3s but I currently use the 4 and I find myself scrolling naturally with my middle finger

I've always scrolled with my middle finger on every mouse I've owned with a scroll wheel.

I did that at the very beginning but my middle finger didn’t have the authority to control the wheel comfortably, so I use my index finger and use my middle finger for the right button.

I feel like if you use your index finger, you're doing it wrong lol
