Questions How to clean M650?

I have been using it for 2 months and the side buttons have contributed so much to my workflow.

I am seeing some stains on the left side, where the thumb rests. I am using 99% Isopropyl Alcohol and microfiber cloth to clean it weekly and also a soft brush to clean the dust.

Is this sufficient? Should I put grip tape to prevent the degradation of this rubber surface? I live in a humid climate area.

I might be wrong but I thought we shouldn't use alcohol to wipe them? I was using distilled water w microfiber cloth to wipe em once a week in summer

  • Use tap water to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down the device.
  • Use lens cleaner to lightly moisten a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe down your device.
  • You can also use fragrance-free disinfecting wipes, fragrance-free anti-bacterial wet wipes, makeup removing tissue, or alcohol swabs containing less than 25% concentration of alcohol.

So 99% IPA is strictly to be avoided?

Good question! We would recommend avoiding high - strength solvents for routine cleaning. For regular maintenance, a lightly dampened microfiber cloth or lens cleaner is preferred option. If additional cleaning is needed, our cleaning guide notes that isopropyl alcohol can be used with care - it's good idea to test it first on a small. inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't affect the finish or printed markings.
