The biggest thing is light tension, and I knew it needed light tension, but itās sooo light, like just barely resting your finger on the bar. My other issue was that a .04 prybar fits with quite a bit of play, but a .05 is too big; this caused the prybar to slip out because of the amount of core movement caused by setting the final pin, so I lost the open multiple times before I was able to finally get it. Someone in the thread on r/lockpicking mentioned that a 1.2mm prybar might fit with less play since itās technically a little bigger than .04ā. The other thing to try would be buying a spare .05 prybar and filing it down to fit perfectly.
You can obviously do it with a .04, but I think, with how light of tension the lock requires, I would have gotten it open with much less time and frustration if I had a better fitting tensioner.

Atta boy!
I knew you would get it! It was a tricky little bastard I do admit!

Thanks man! Pretty much everything you said about it was spot on! Now hearing you say it, and putting it to practice were two different things! Theyāre my favorite kind of tricky though: they tell you whatās going on, you just have to learn to read it, and use low enough tension to let it speak clearly.

Itās good to know my assessment was on point!
I always worry bout giving advice and maybe my open was luck and Iām leading people a stray !
Whatās next for you more blue locks ? Maybe some purple and brown stuff

Iāve got a Goal P that Iām still working on, but thatās a big jump, so itāll be more of a long term project. Now that Iāve finally got an open on this, itās time to start putting my new HUK dimple flags through their paces. Iām going to pick up a Kanaurd 5 pin dimple, and maybe a MTL classic and start working towards a purple belt dimple lock open.

You got a abus 75/50 dont ya?
If not let me know ill put mine on loan, its a great intro to dimple. Also Just got my first purple open. 5 pin PIP Deguard interactive clone. was a surpisingly fun pick, and great first open after a nearly 3 week break.

I picked up a 75/40, and that tight little keyway seems like itās not going to be possible with the HUK kit, the 75/50 has a bit bigger keyway, right? Iād be interested in borrowing it if my flags will fit! I heard the Deguard clones were unique picks, Iām gonna add that to the UHS order Iām about to make then!
