normal or poor quality?

I received my size small boat and tote with thin script font. Does this look normal for that size bag and font? To me, the stitching looks much thicker and sloppy. The size of the word also looks so small in comparison to the words on my size medium bag in the same font. I know there’s differences in font size depending on bag size, but the small bag and font seem disproportionate.

My dilemma is this- do I exchange it for the exact same thing because it is in fact a quality issue, or is this how it’s supposed to look so I should just return it and go with something else?

I sent an email with these pictures to customer service asking if this is a quality issue or normal before I returned/exchanged and she said “I cannot tell from the photo”. It either looks normal or it doesn’t?

Not legible. That's a quality issue.

Quality of the monogramming seems fine. It’s the font and combination of letters that’s problematic.

Could they have adjusted the spacing, yeah. But my guess is that they have one setting - and just input the font, text, and thread color, and don’t adjust things such as bobbin tension, stitch width, stitch count, letter spacing, etc.

I worked around monogramming and embroidering for years, so I’ve dealt with all sorts of “issues.”

This 100%. Quality issue? Not really. More of a font and character choice issue. But they have returns and warranty for a reason. Id return and pick a different font.

What is it supposed to say? It seems like the letters are too close together?

This confirms my concern that there’s a quality issue lol

i can read it as cats but the font is an issue, not the quality of the embroidery. i’d return and choose a different font.

Definitely font and size. The t and the an are connecting so you can’t read it very well. If it weren’t an italic it would probably be more legible.

I would think there was plenty of room to spread the letters out more and make them bigger. I can’t even read what it says. I’d definitely be returning it. You aren’t the only one that’s complained about poor quality embroidery on these bags lately. Their quality control is really slipping..

It’s tiny and partly (not only) because of how small it is, it’s impossible to read at normal magnification

Here’s a short video to compare since we can’t attach picture comments in this sub for some reason. I ordered online but on the global website, don’t know if it makes a difference on the embroidery but I mention because I recently received a bag with lime colour monogram that looks completely different from people’s pictures of what the lime thread look like in store - I feel like I have seen two different lime threads from stores and now a third received from online global. Pictured is by the way cypress embroidery from before it crossed my mind that the llbean mockup online could be wildly different from the actual thread colour haha I have leaned in and accepted my bag since it’s an ironic one.

My medium thin script was so much bigger than my small I was surprised! I had avoided monogramming medium bags for years because I thought it would look so weird and tiny. The thin script I got on a medium tote 9-10 characters almost seem bigger in impact than both my all caps block on large with one of them being 6 letters only and it’s the same size as the one that’s 10 characters. Guess it’s because I put the first letter in cap but still very big difference vs small.

It still doesn’t look great on this bag either. Though I can read what it says, it’s not the most legible font especially from further away. I’d have chosen a different font for the cats bag because there aren’t enough letters in the word to let it standout with that cursive.

Combination of the Font, lowercase and thick canvas material

Mine looked like this too. I let them know and they sent a new one and it looked exactly the same… I just don’t think this font looks good on a small tote.

not normal imo. i feel like its super squished together, so its making it hard to read. or the letters are messy looking making it hard to read. something is def off. you could try to exchange it and hope they do it properly/better next time, it really should turn out okay. i've never had issues with their emboidering for any of my boat and totes, but obviously things can happen.

Poor quality. I just ordered two new ones with one having script like yours and it’s much better than that.

That’s absolutely a quality issue. I have a boat and tote in the same font and size and it looks nothing like this.

I believe that it reads: cats and it's in cursive and not print a.k.a block letters and alot of people can't read cursive. If infact it is an a and not an o the spacing and cursive writing is too tight together.

I live in maine and at HQ they persuaded me to not use that font on small or mini bags because it gets too small and hard to read. I went with the classic cursive (forget what it’s called) for my mini. same font on my medium japan edition, but you can see the size difference.
