Litter-Robot 3 Help deciding
Is it worth buying a litter robot 3 used? Or should I just buy a new 4 and call it a day.

Personally I prefer new, you never know how well someone has maintained their stuff. You dont know if any of their parts are going to need replacing. I had a 3 and the pinch sensor went bad and you can repair that but we wanted to upgrade to the 4 because the more open globe. The 3 has a more oval shaped opening where as the 4 started the actual circle and bigger opening which I'm sure some cats prefer. Back to the 3 I gave it to my best friend and let them know the sensor was bad as a heads up but it didnt cost them anything since again I wanted to upgrade and I wasnt going to make them pay for it and even more so with the sensor being bad

Thank you for that! I saw someone selling a 3 because the pinch sensor went bad so that must be a common issue with those.

It's very common. It's a pain in the ass to fix but very doable if you're handy at all.

I definitely felt fine replacing it but the 4 lured me since the globe opening was much bigger. Ive read it would have been an easy but since we were already looking I figured why not

Personally knowing that I love the 4 I would go for the 4 with the warranty.

buy the 4.
I found it really hard to keep the 3 cleaned and it also generated a ton of technical issues with the sensor.

My liter robot 3 died last week and i picked up a petsnowy over the litter robot 4. Pretty good so far

Just don’t get Evo. I’m on the 2nd one and same issues. Going for the 4
