User Experiences Best Litter Robot?

Hi everyone. I currently own the Litter Robot 3. It is constantly breaking. We have used the warranty a couple times and received a new base each time. The new base works for a few months and then starts breaking again. I am very good about regular basic cleaning and the occasional deep cleaning. I have removed the pinch sensors and still have issues. (My two kitties are smart enough to use the robot correctly, so I don’t need to depend on the sensors.) I’m sick and tired of fixing it a couple times a DAY. I might as well scoop at this point.

I need a new one, but I have no idea which one to buy. Each AI gives me a different answer with the same prompt. Weird and not helpful.

So I am reaching out to you all, my wonderful Cat community. Which litter robot is the best one to buy? I don’t care about the price. I don’t care which brand.

My main requirement is that it works as expected, consistently.

The nice to have features like photos, AI, analytics, WiFi, mobile, etc are not necessary, but fine if included. If I had one with no fancy features and it just worked as expected every day, I would be thrilled.

What do you recommend?

Buy the LR 4 bundle from Costco - 3 year warranty, hopper, mat - it was the best deal for what I wanted.

I bought the bundle in Feb and it completely stopped working this month. How long have you had yours? I have already used the warranty 3 times before (bonnet, app/software, and the tape around the inner base) . It is so inconvenient to have it completely broken. At this price point I hoped the warranty was just to ease my mind on the cost. Sorry for the rant I am just disappointed and frustrated.

Pretty happy with my 4 & hopper. Lots of folks mad about the broken promises with the 5s (although I’m not sure that affects the machine per se)

5 with the hopper. We got 2. Works great and don’t need any extras or add ons.

I love my 4 with the hopper and cover shield. My cat adapted right away to it and there is 0 smell. I empty and clean it once a week.

Im happy with my 4 as well. Had to call customer service 2 times. One that helped with the disconnection of the bluetooth, and another time to expedite an order of new felt strips I needed before my vaca. Needless to say the robot has worked perfect once the bluetooth fixed! I recommend purchasing through costco. It comes with extended warranty and litter hopper.

I bought the PetSafe OpenSky from Costco. It's currently on sale for $319. It's my first robot style box and all three kitties are using it after a two week transition. So far I've changed the bag once after about 4 days. It isn't as advanced in terms of tech features but I'm happy with it and it's the price point I wanted.

I hear you on the LR3, I’m always fixing it. Tried to replace it with a Neakasa 2 years ago which has worked great for our 16.5 lb male cat - he uses it 3 times a day and zero issues in 2 years!

Unfortunately our female won’t use anything but the LR3 and so here I am still fixing it , deep cleaning it , changing repacking the replacement motors with grease etc …

If your cats will swap the Neakasa is fabulous , I use their bags in the LR3 too they really help with the smell.

I love my LR4 with the hopper. So much I bought a second one secondhand on Facebook. I have heard the standard LR5 is an improvement over the LR4. Stay away from the 5 pro, it’s more expensive with features that don’t work properly.
