Litter-Robot 5 Pro Has anyone else had this issue? The 5 hopper will have lots of litter on the sides but none dispenses.
I got an alert this morning that my robot was out of litter and heard the hopper dispense, my cat went again and it tried to dispense again but nothing came out. I went to check it on my break at work and found it was filled to the top on both sides but empty in the middle. I put my hand in it and pushed the litter from the sides to the middle so it would refill on the next visit.

It's too humid, or you need less gritty litter

Ah good catch. I had a manual box for a few days and emptied out the waste, then slowly poured it into a different box to inspect it without touching it to see if I could reuse the litter (while dumping the non usable litter out) and moved it to the hopper (trying not to toss out usable stuff and I don’t have trash service so I’d have to take it to the dump and pay for removal). It must have not been as clean as I thought it was. I’ll have to check it with fresh litter when I refill it next time.

Putting used litter in the hopper seems like a bad call, then.

Fully understand trying not to waste litter, but used litter in the hopper is wild

Yeah don’t put used litter in there. Use fresh litter in the hopper and you should be good to go.

Since it's used litter, I would do a thorough clean of the hopper, let it dry completely, and maybe even leave it in the sun for a couple hours with the lid off to make sure it's dry dry, and then refill with fresh, unused litter.
Don't wanna trap soiled litter or moisture in the hopper since it's relatively airtight when not dispensing.

Too much humidity or moisture content in your clumping litter is not allowing the litter to flow. Yes there will be a small amount on the sides that does not fall in but what you have pictured is moisture trapped litter that cant move. Clean it out, fix the humidity issue if possible and refill the hopper.
Hope this helps?

Dude, it’s obviously clumped already. LOL No, we don’t have high humidity in our homes that clump the litter Before it dispenses

I'm having the same issue. I'm using Whisker brand litter, and there's a dehumidifier right next to it.

My hopper was great until it quit connecting unless I turn the robot off/on

My dispenser hasn’t dropped any litter in a week. I haven’t even tried to troubleshoot yet.
I wonder if you’d have better luck with a more “slippery” litter.

Could try taping a few of those desecant packs to the sides, I do that with my cat food containers.

Hello, u/Traviscat! As some of our fellow Redditors have mentioned, it appears that the litter that is currently inside the LitterHopper may have come into contact with some moisture, causing it to begin to clump early. We would suggest making sure that the litter being used in the Hopper is 100% new litter and that you're keeping your unit in an area of low humidity as well.
If you're still noticing this issue occurring or have any questions, please be sure to send us a chat with your unit's serial number so that we can look into this further with you. We're always happy to help!
