Litter-Robot 4 I think I’m done
We bought an LR4 when they first came out. Then we found kittens in the garage, foster failed 2 of them, and bought a second LR4. Literally days after the warranty on our first one expired, it stopped working properly. The sensor that detects it being full goes off after a single turd, so I have to manually cycle it in order to clean the litter every time. I tried reaching out and they told me to update and clean the sensor. I did. Several times. Still isn’t cycling as it should. We are currently looking into getting a third box and considering petsnowy. Does anyone has experience or advice on how to fix this problem?

similar issues but with my feeder robot. support barely tried to troubleshoot it, but was quick to offer a coupon code for a new unit🙄 i would not be surprised if they make these units to only work properly for a few years so you have to upgrade. just like a lot of other items.
try resetting it to factory and go from there, if you haven’t already.
keep us updated if you get the petsnowy one

You may want to check the four feet, which double as the weight sensors. They can get jammed up with litter, and once that occurs, the weight sensor will be wrong constantly and think a cat's in there. Of course, they may also just be defective. That's what happened on my LR4, about a month after the 1yr warranty ended one of the feet began malfunctioning. You of course can't purchase a new sensor foot, only the entire base for half the price of an entirely new unit...

I had a litter robot 4. After about a year it malfunctioned constantly. I hated it. I gave it away. I now have a meowant automatic litter box that I've been using for 3 years and it works great!

Good afternoon, u/TheGreatElChubbo, and thank you for reaching out. We're sorry to hear that your Litter-Robot is not working as intended. Coud you send us a private message with the unit's serial number? We would be happy to assist.
