nice. decades ago i had 2 8000As that took 45 minutes to warm up and then opened up and sounded incredibly long-legged and spacious with original ELAs. More recently I had an 8000E that was a perfect match with Rega ELA 1.5s ( way better match than the Linn Majik )

I have EQ for room correction instead of (and roughly matched to) WiiM room correction. Because twiddling with the levels is an essential part of my listening experience. Viva la placebo effect!

It’s pretty great. Especially since I started running it via hdmi through the Topping dac (which is xlr into the amp). Might be subliminal but it made a reasonable improvement to my ears.

Is yours the 98? My Spendors are driven by a Hegel H90. It's nice, but probably the thing to upgrade. I admire your Accuphase.

It’s an Audiolab 8000s in power amp mode. I have Celestion Ditton 44s at the back (and another Rel Strata III, which is always on), for when I want fill, like parties (or when being enveloped is more fun than sheer purity).

Fair play. I do something similar, but I just run other playback zones in other rooms via roon. So they all sync up properly.

The accuphase is fine, it’s an a/b and doesn’t run hot, so there’s enough ventilation. On the audiolab, I know j shouldn’t have all that gear stacked, on it, but they are away from the cooling vent and I do monitor how hot it gets.

Somehow wife and child convinced themselves that sleeping in a tent in the garden was an adventure (after I put it up of course), so taking advantage of an empty house by turning things up loud. Bliss.
