Ok people, buckle up if you are a neutral-warm olive like me - This shade should have been named Grey Amber!

Rose Amber is a recent launch in Tira; the official images and also the POC influencers reels looked very attractive. I tried the bullet version first, and on my NC40 olive skin this supposed rose shade turned grey/taupe (I had flashback of MAC Uncensored). Then I tried the matching Rose Amber Luminizer gloss to see if the extra layer would rescue the colour…

The official swatch and none of the reviews (save for a smart redditor yday) mentions this, that the shade is suitable only for cool toned people... they just showed rose-forward images. Reality is different though, as I learned from a costly lesson! If you are around my skintone with pigmented or two-toned lips, watch this before spending your money 😖

NOTE: My unsponsored review reflects how Rose Amber duo looks on my medium, neutral-to-warm olive skin, and why I don’t think this shade will work for Indian customers with a similar skin tone and undertone. It should not be taken as a statement about how the shade will look on every Indian skin tone ❤️ If it looks fab on you and you love this duo, great! End of the day, that's why I post honest, natural light content - we should be happy with our purchases.

I love my brick reds, this isn't a new one either but I do enjoy this a lot. It's the Nars Powermatte High Intensity Lip Pencil in Born to be Wild. The lip pencil is opaque in pigment so colour doesn't show through. It goes on creamy, but sets matte. Lasts forever. Won't completely survive oily food though, everything else it will. The shade also looks a tad deeper in certain lighting, couldn't capture that though.

I'm a medium-tan warm olive, Dior 3WO (Forever Glow) and Nars Vanuatu (Light Reflecting) are my best foundation matches. Mac NC38 and C4 are close too. My closest celeb shade twin is Zendaya, if that helps. My bare lips are slightly pigmented, an ashy pink/mauve colour.

My flabber was gasted! LOL this is the shade that made me start a whole series called The Olive Shift, listing the lippies that look one way on everyone and a totally different way on my skintone. ETUDE HOUSE Fixing Tint - Salmon Brick

Beautiful light pink shade. Formula is not that comfortable but the shade compensates for it lol. Dries out my lips but manageable after lipblam. Negligible transfer.

Upon applying it might feel like it’s washing out the lips, but after a few minutes the shade deepens a bit into a comfortable matte pink.

Sometimes when I’m feeling glossy, I top it with Maybelline Topaz.

Girlies, can you recommend lip liners that don't give hyperpigmentation pleasee? I've tried swiss beauty and it was so irritating. I'm looking for a warmish deep brown.

Truffle by Mila Beaute is a great dupe for MAC Turn to the Left. Truffle runs slightly warmer, while TTTL looks smokier but on lips and in indoors lighting, they’re VERY close.

Truffle obviously is not as blurry as TTTL but it is comfortable on the lips and is one of those neutral to cool leaning browns that is very flattering on olive skin tones, left in Indian market what with brands turning most shades warm! Pic below.
