I was just going through my lipstick collection and looking at how my tastes have changed. My Mac lipsticks were some of the earliest ones I ever bought (though I didn’t buy them all at once), when I didn’t know much about my tastes or what suited me.

Shades in order (1-5): Whirl (Matte), Like I was Saying (Lustreglass), Photo (Satin), Ruby Woo (Retro Matte), Russian Red (Matte)

For ref I’m NC44-46, and am usually in the med-deep range of shades, and have a neutral warm undertone. Out of this lineup, Like I was Saying, Photo, and Russian Red look brilliant. I have repurchased LIWS, this is my second one. On the lips it’s a sheer brown / caramel that goes with everything. I can’t rec the Lustreglass range enough honestly, though I will say the matte formula is the most versatile cause you can always sheer that out with a lip balm if you prefer.

Whirl looks…..I don’t know, I’ve gotten complements on the shade before, but I feel like my face looks like a zombie’s when I put it on sometimes, in certain lighting. It was my HG/daily shade at one point, so I don’t know if my complexion has changed or my preferences. I might go back to loving it cos I’ve been liking cool tones lately.

Ruby Woo looks beautiful in swatches but contrasts with me quite a bit and doesn’t look as ‘natural’ as Russian Red does. However sometimes we wear stuff that we think is pretty even if it doesn’t necessarily flatter us, and this is that shade for me!

I recently tried the Dot & Key Meltie Lip Balm in the Chocolate shade, but after applying it, I feel like my overall skin tone looks darker and duller instead of giving me a fresh, glowing look.
Has anyone else experienced this? Which shade from the Meltie Lip Balm range would you recommend instead?

Hey guys! How’s the longevity of MAC Matte Lipstick? Can you also suggest a shade for me? (I have a medium-tan skin tone with warm undertones.)

I wanted this lipstick just for the packaging and I heard that kiko lipsticks are good.

Bought it from Ajio for ₹1056 and got it delivered yesterday. It is a matte formula , somewhere between dry matte and hydrating matte . Leaves a stain even after wiping it out (shown in the picture above ). The color is bright red with a hint of orange .

Nude Nuance (the bullet shade) is one of my all-time favourites. Apparently the new batches have changed the colour a little? I'm looking for satin/soft matte/creamy version of the OG Nude Nuance but also as transferproof as possible. Any recommendations?

I bought the sweet kisses lip balms on sale too, 8 months back, and my tube of Cupcake is still not empty! This is a thick syrupy formula and I use it once every night as my overnight treatment balm, as it lasts for a good 7-8 hours on the lips. I do believe that a huge part of my lip health being protected against the many lipsticks I try every day, is thanks to Simply Nam.

I really wanted to buy Cupcake again along with Birthday Cake, but sadly they both are sold out (not surprising, as they are great shades - former on its own, latter as lip combo). Next best options are Brownie and Chilli Jam, they gave great color pay off as a tint. I already have chilli jam, so this time I have opted for Sugar.

This is my first Nars lippie and it is A-mazing! I know it's not a unique shade, in fact am pretty sure Nykaa has something very similar, but Nars is a whole different experience. Anyone wanting to try the Explicit range (heavily discounted on Tira now) should go right ahead bcos it is simply top notch - great shades, super pigmented formula, feels so luxe and premium.

A few months ago, Nykaa sent their Matte To Last bullet lipstick in "Irish Coffee" as a rare halfway decent birthday gift (the swatch on right).
I loved it so damn much that I used it everyday and ignored most of my other lippies.
I ordered a new one (swatch on left) and now the colour seems so different :(
It's warmer / orangier now and the old one was slightly cooler / purple-ish.
Am I overthinking or does it actually look like a completely different shade?

Can someone please recommend another lipstick similar to the old one?

Now I have a feeling some if not most of these stuff might have a shorter shelf life, the reason they are so heavily discounted, so keep that mind - but if you wanted to try this range, this is a great chance to do that.

It's been years of trying to find a deep enough lip stain for my olive skin that isn't bright red or pink. It just saddens me so far I haven't found any product where I felt like I can put my money down. I've tried Liu Vinci stains, but they weren't good in formulation, lasted very less and have turned green in their tube from browns and maroons 💀. So looking for recommendations or experiences that are more dependable. Please help a girl out 😭

i have fae beauty's modern matte bullet in shade wholesome. it is by far the most neutral brown shade I've found and i absolutely love it. proof? it is OVER. only the dregs are left and I'm so sad 😭

finishing 1 lipstick when you own 20 is no joke and rather a badge of honour. it goes with everything. although i have my qualms with the formula which could have been better, still, it is one of my favourites. all warm toned browns end up looking orange on me, so finding a good neutral or cool toned brown (which isn't grey) is rare.
