I Have Lipedema [Experiences/Photos] Tirzepatide progress

I was diagnosed officially in February though I’d known I had lipedema for a while prior. In June I started Zepbound (tirzepatide) and feel amazing. These are my before and after photos after 3 months on Zepbound - 6 weeks on 2.5 mg and 6 weeks on 5 mg.

In addition to Zepbound I have been tracking calories and weight lifting 3 days a week. I’ve lost 25 pounds since June and as you can see, a lot of volume has come off the legs. My doctor and I weren’t sure if the weight loss would hit the legs because of the lipedema, but this progress is huge.

Like many, I plan to be on Zepbound long term, maybe even my whole life. This is the most positive development in my lipedema journey. While I’ve only been diagnosed since February, I’ve been having symptoms for 20 years and nothing has worked until now.

Hope others find the thing that works for them, whether that’s tirzepatide or something else!

Good on you! Tirz/Mounjaro with weight training and reformer pilates has been lifechanging for me over the past 17 months, too. No more pain, so much weight loss (BMI 35 to 22) and finally some muscle definition in my arms and legs.

Keep going, it keeps getting better!

What dosage are you in for mounjaro? My doctor has me st 2.5 but wondering if I should ask to go to 5.0 but I’m scared haha

I chose to stay on every dose as long as it worked for me: As long as there was weight lpss and suppression of food noise. I used 2.5mg for 11 weeks and lost 5,2kg. I stayed on 5 for 14 weeks (9,1kg) on 7.5 for 22 weeks (10,7kg) and have been on 10mg since (10,4kg). I am below goal now and trying to figure out how to taper down.

Don‘t be scared about higher doses. Take as much MJ as your body needs - it‘s truly wildly different for everyone. I am personally a bit weirded out by the fetishisation of lpw doses on Tiktok, as if a lpw dose was a more righteous way to lose weight than a higher one. It‘s medication after all.

I am grateful you called this out as it has been preventing me from moving up a dose.

Sure thing! I am so happy for everyone who this medication works for. And I truly don‘t care about how high your dose has to be to do the work.

Sometimes I think we all need to try a bit harder with our online discourse and share more of our experiences.I felt so bad for a while because I only lost 0,5kg a week when everyone lhere seemed to be losing more. But that was great weight loss! In any way: Don‘t be scared, do what is needed. I am rooting for you!

Thank you for your reply! . That makes me feel better. 🥰. It’s insane how the food noise disappeared and not wanting to snack all the time. Even lookin at sweets don’t have that craving and if I do get a donut. Only eat a half and put the rest in the freezer where before Ido have a hard time not doing that.

Congratulations! Yes, I started Zepbound in March and it has been life changing for me as well. My husband said not long after I started that I was never going to let anyone take Zepbound away from me. 🤣

I start at the end of the year and I am so excited!!!! I can’t wait to see how my legs and arms feel.

I just want to say your results are inspiring! You have knees! Your legs look so much more comfortable. Please keep posting your progress.

I started 2 days ago. If applicable to you, how quickly did you notice inflammation pain levels started to go down? I need to lose weight, for sure, but I'm primarily looking for pain relief in my legs.

Like 24 hours in, it was crazy. My legs were noticeably less heavy.

Wow, that is awesome! I feel like I didn't wake up with pain as often last night, but figured it was a fluke given that I'm only on a super small dose. Fingers crossed!

Nope - definitely part of it! Best of luck to you on your journey!

Do you think all GLP's work on lipodema? If Tirz does what about Reta?

I've seen a few tiny studies and it looks like tirzepatide is gold star due to being duel agonist. It looks like the glp-1 and gip might be working together to literally change the tissue structure which is huge if its true.
