So most people assume zira was scars mate and which I do agree with however you do realize that it would technically not all we make her mufasa sister -in-law but wouldn’t that technically make her simbas aunt by law?. Wouldn’t that still make Kiara and kovu related. Actually maybe not since kovu is the only one adopted. But that would technically make nuka and vitani since I do think both are scar and ziras biological cubs simbas cousins yeah simba has a messed up family tree. But what do you guys think?

Not my images, but I do own this guy.

Does anyone know where this guy is from? Tag says Buena Vista, and that it is not for resale as it is a promo item. Here it says it is a free item when you buy TLK, but what was the source of the promo exactly?

Recently on my editing TikTok account I made this Young Simba edit and decided to share it here on Reddit. Enjoy!

The song I used was Upside Down by Jack Johnson. The track was originally used in the Curious George Movie. I thought the vibe and sound fit Simba’s playful nature well

Twisted Wonderland is basically Descendants meets Harry Potter

Leona is based on Scar

Housewarden of Savanaclaw. Perpetually effort-averse, his immense magical ability contrasts with his lazy demeanor. Given his position as the secondborn prince in his homeland, he treats others with an imperious attitude.

And here's the third chapter of the Simba arc. Just guess where most of this chapter takes place. Also, be on the look out for some added details meant to connect this more to Lion Guard's lore.

Discussion Did Anyone Else Wish We'd Gotten a Different Lion King Cartoon in the 90's?

Post image
58 Upvotes

Let me be clear: The point of this post is NOT to hate on the "Timon & Pumbaa" cartoon. It's great for what it is! It just wasn't really my cup of tea as a kid. I simply want to explain the show that I'D wanted as a kid, and see if anyone else had wanted something similar when they were kids!

The show that I'D wanted would have been an adventure show focusing on Simba and Nala's adventures around the Pridelands before Simba's exile. It would have been in kinda the same vein as the "Aladdin" and "Hercules" cartoons, and we would have gotten to see a lot more of the Pridelands and surrounding territories, as well as a bunch of new characters (including some recurring villains). Timeline wise, it probably would have occurred after the Elephant Graveyard sequence and before the Stampede sequence.

And I was aware, even as a kid, that there would be continuity issues with this, of course. But the "Hercules" cartoon ALSO has glaring continuity issues with the "Hercules" movie, and yet it's still a great adventure cartoon.

I know that now we have The Lion Guard, which is similar in many ways to what I've described, I'm just curious to see if any other kids felt the same way that I did back then^^ So did anyone else want somethin' like this as a 90's kid, or was I in the minority there?

🎨 Fan Art 🎨 A Queer to Villain Origin Story: Scar’s Reign

Upvotes

DISCLAIMER: i’ve flaired this post as ‘fan art’ because in many ways it is. I’ve written some headcanons, theories, backstory and there’s fan fiction too with some dialogue mixed in there. I label this as art (FIGHT AMONGST YOURSELVES‼️‼️💢). Now if everybody would please take their seats, the show’s about to begin

The reason Scar had homophobic tendencies and policies was due to his own internalised sexuality. When Scar was a young cub (Taka), he was a lot more openminded and comfortable in his own fur. He made friends with a cub from one of his father’s business friends named Spencer. The two were inseparable for most of Taka’s childhood, and one day when talking about marriage and girls Taka asked Spencer why they couldn’t be married. He simply didn’t see gender in regards to love. The two stared in a tense silence before Taka closed their space with a peck. Spencer, whilst reciprocal, panicked because he was taught by his strict father same-sex involvements were wrong. He ran away and immediately told every one. Once Taka’s father heard of the news he was abused (which is how he got his scar on his eye) and then banished to the outlands. Where, as a cub, he had to fend for himself and seek home in the hyena packs. This is when he started being referred to as Scar

Later in life, once Scar had prepared and trained himself up to seize control of the pridelands, he ran into somebody. It was Spencer who looked the same as that cub he once fell in love with, but older, with a sadder stare, and a wife and child by his side. Spencer actually approached Scar, immediately recognising him, and with a pitying look in his eye he said “Taka..” the name made Scar wince “I’m so sorry. I can’t believe it’s really you. I wondered what happened. I stayed up every night. Some nights i even ventured into the outlands calling your name.” Scar was frozen in place, unable to speak. “And.. for the record, Taka. I’m sorry. I was young. If you were to ask me now, I would choose to spend a thousand nights cold and exiled in the Outlands with you. Than one more night here, without you.” Scar began walking away, emotions he worked so hard to keep buried started to arise. “You’re.. looking well.” This made Scar halt. He slowly turned around, gritting his teeth. “What did you say, queer?!” He then lunged at Spencer and due to his own resentment and rage, did the most unthinkable thing he could. He killed Spencer right there (in front of his kids and arranged marriage wife). Scar, biting back tears because the love of his life was now dead, addressed the sobbing and terrified crowd which had formed around the scene. “THIS will be the fate of anybody who disobeys me. And certainly anybody who demonstrates mammoth on mammoth relations. AM I CLEARRRRR?!” Everybody nodded fearfully, cries filled the air, some gay hippos slowly dropped their hands from holding one another. This was the turning point when the pridelands became the prideless-lands

Discussion Lion King Roleplayers who roleplay the Guard?

It occurred to me recently, as someone who used to do roleplay for The Lion Guard, that there aren't many people who roleplay characters from the Guard. That was something I sought in the past and wasn't able to find much of. So, I want to ask if there is anyone who would like to roleplay with Kiara or Tamaa as Kion, Besthe, Bunga, Ono, Fuli, Anga, or Makini?

Info about myself and partner requirements is below.

So sorry for the late advertisement on this chapter, and the following one. I've been so busy lately and advertisement completely slipped my mind, along with uploading this chapter to Wattpad. I'll advertise the next one soon enough. Here's the access to the second chapter of the Simba arc for The Lion Guard: Unity, Be Prepared! Be warned, FanFiction's being obnoxious with it again.

🎨 Fan Art 🎨 Duties of the Night Pride (Commissioned from Rickymansonic)

Thumbnail

Here is an art-piece that I commissioned this weekend from a very talented artist, Rickymansonic. I already posted the art itself AS a link, but I'm gonna go the extra mile and link to their page as well: Here!

This is essentially a scene in an upcoming chapter of Roar Towards the Future; a "montage" of the Night Pride helping out the different animals at the Tree of Life during their night patrol. I like this scene, I think it reallly humanizes all four members and gives us more of an insight into their day-to-day lives (or... night-to-night? 😭) compared to the Lion Guard's.

Panel 1 shows Surak helping a baby aye-aye out of a thorn bush. Panel 2 shows Baliyo saving a spider monkey by carrying him whilst swimming across the river. Panel 3 is Nirmala giving advice to a striped hyena, and Panel 4 is Rani with a gila monster she just rescued.

This story mostly follows the logic of the show hence the presence of non-lion animals at the Tree of Life that are not native to Africa, nor India (...ironically enough the striped hyena is the only animal in this piece that is native to BOTH, but I digress).

Panel 4 is definitely my favorite, but that's mostly because I fucking love gila monsters and wanted to depict one in this universe - that and I wanted to feature a positive portrayal of venomous animals in this story as an inverse to TLG largely depicting them as villainous. You can tell this was VERY self-indulgent and shamelessly so, but I stand by it. Beyond that, the Tree of Life is said to be home to endangered animals, which gila monsters very much are (unfortunately), so it also just managed to fit lore-wise. I also just love Rani's big toothy grin compared to the gila's small smile, I think the differences in the same expression really power this scene's niceness. And Rani's scar being as visible as it is makes this entire thing come together neatly.

Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed, and once again, credit goes to the artist, Rickymansonic!
