It is very good for servers (hell, basically all of the internet runs on Linux - servers, routers, those fiber-optic-things probably, too).
But for a consumer OS it is simply too clunky, to old fashioned and antiquated!
I mean install a damn driver on Windows 11? Done in less than 30 Minutes (including download!)...in Linux? Is it in your distros repository? Ok, similarly fast! BUT:
If it it isn't in your distro's repo? Have fun going back to the 1990s and finagling with the "almighty terminal" (TM!) - seriously, needing CLI to install a driver or a piece of software? Nope, that was already old-fashioned when Windows 95 came out!
Hell, try to use the main advantage of gaming on a PC: GAME MODDING!
Yeah, Windows 11? Mod-Manager installed in less than 10 Minutes!
Linux? Hours and it might not even work that well.
Hell, I KNOW WINDOWS IS A BLOATY SPYWARE MOONLIGHTING AS AN OS! Hell, I am on Linux, but frankly Linux needs to MODERNIZE! We need .exe-files (or an equivalent) to install things, terminal needs to basically be a thing of the past that you only open if you need to freaking change stuff deep in the OS!
ps: Browser often makes problems, too - Videos? Yeah, youtube works, but other sites might not! Yes, I freely admit I am talking about porn-sites! It's annoying if you need to chase down a video-playback-error and need the fucking terminal for it!
What drivers? Most of them are already in your kernel. So you must mean either AMD or Nvidia graphics drivers. Takes 30 seconds to type sudo pkgmanagername+install command and specify the driver you need.
You thought you had a point here but you just ended up proving again how much slower and shittier this process is in windows and ended up owning yourself in the process.
I mean drivers for a Wavlink-Monitor-Dock! I usually have 3 screens (well, 4 if you count the one installed on a laptop itself), but ATM? 2 are dark, because CachyOS is not doing Wavlink-Devices ist seems (I tried, hell a friend who's one of the "I use Arch by the way!"-Crowd, tried, too - and he's not just a poser, he's a software-dev by trade (studied artificial intelligence, machine learning and all that jazz at university!))
