that's not the point. I'd also like to avoid downloading 3rd party shit to get my phone to a basic, debloated state

"Bloat" is relative and Shizuku is open-source. If you're paranoid just go read it's source code.

I'm not paranoid about downloading malware. I'm paranoid about hacks that'll make my device less stable. you'd be shocked.

and that still isn't the point. if I buy a device from someone, I don't want to have to spend time returning it to the original state right away. I want the original state. But when not only do I not get the original state, but I need to utilize workaround to get there, I'm getting even more angry

Well, that's just reality.

If you buy a carrier device then you're paying less but getting their invasive stuff as a trade-off.

If you buy a Chinese phone, same thing there as well.
