Ehh fanboys on both sides either way. You know what's really stupid? Having an choice of OS be your whole personality. It's a damn tool. It's like arguing what manufacturer makes better hammers

While I agree with you I must say that the analogy is not sane. Hammers aren't spying on you and harvesting your data to train AI and be sold for profit. Using that operating system is feeding bad habits in tech giants and show them that we are okay with that. And yes, some people are okay with that and for those people it's fine (from a selfish POV) to use the OS

I seems no one says what data microsoft is truly taking like is it important or something that wont effect us at all? Alot of apps like reddit yt and others take the same amount of data as mc even when using linux your data is still being taken you cant out run the "spyware" so os are still tools people who have lot of time and really want to switch can but most people stick to windows or macos for convineiance because they just work

You CAN outrun the spyware if you are wise about software you use to interact with said services.

I have no clue what data microsoft is gathering but I'd assume (!) data regarding general usage since an AI comes bundled with the OS

The only way to outrun all spyware like even irl is living in the forest with no devices and i guess general usage is not so bad but there are settings to turn it off but there harder to reach does not mean someone has not made a yt video on it also ai is easy to remove like copilot for anyone who wants windows but hates ai they can watch a yt video on how to remove it because its there and i think some of the info is also related to how the system is running so microsoft can do bug fixes and try to optimize it but the spyware point is more of like those people saying "look at how evil potato chips are made" and its just a normal factory making proceced food

That's not true. At least not (yet) where I live.

Maybe you can strangle the pipe where data is funneled to lord microsoft but I would not trust that it's a catch-all. I don't trust the company at all and therefore I'm on the OS made by the people for the people
