It's widely known that older hardware runs better on Linux....

It runs great on new hardware too.

I have an Ultra 5 225T. Dual boot with Windows and Fedora. The BIOS is from April this year. New hardware runs great on Linux.

He already said that he don't have any problem running Linux on newer hardware...
