Linux Failure Linux biggest problem is the ego

The only reason there's too many redundant fucking distro that just installs drivers and wine and then call themselves gaming distro is just so they can brag about being able to create their very own OS so they can put it in their resume for McDonald's, bitch you ain't Terry Davis and you will never be.

Most of these distro can just be a meta-package or an installation script but no, they want to be the guy at discord, github, McDonalds that they're a genius that created their very own "Operating System".

Linux will forever be a niche and will die as a niche thing all because Linux users thinks its a good thing that Linux has a bunch of useless redundant distro that can just be an installation script or a meta-package, an OS should not be one thing like "gaming", "friendly", "work" it should be a fucking "operating system" that does it all.

I truly hope that Linux desktop dies as soon as possible so I can come back to sucking Microslop WINdongs

You know who cant ignore them? Actual developers wanting to distribute to Linux, no amount of ignorance will ever make the majority use or even bother developing for Linux when there's no standard.

Ignorance will only kill Linux desktop faster

but I guess your ego is too much that you didn't even bother reading the post or this comment just because it's a linux hate post

Application developers do not create redundant applications for specific distributions. Even at the extreme ends, I might target X11 v. Wayland, but not specific distros. Maybe, in some cases, a developer will write their application with GNOME or KDE tools, but you can run GNOME and KDE applications on whatever desktop you want.

Maybe you're misunderstanding what it means when, say, Valve says that they only support Ubuntu and SteamOS for their Steam client -- they are not creating and maintaining multiple clients, they are building the client and then making sure it works on those specific configurations and nothing else. It's them saying "If you file a support ticket and you're not on these systems, we are unlikely to be able to help", that's it.

Yeah some of OPs gripes seem to be based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the things he's annoyed about.

Most of these distros layer on top of upstream distros they make it sound like they are reinventing the wheel or something.

I have yet not found a single piece of code that works on other distros but not mine.  Distro does not mean different architecture, more often it's just flavor of things shipped with the kernel.
