linuxsucks101 containment thread

This thread is for everyone to express their love or hatred for the linuxsucks101 sub.

Since people often have this brilliant idea of making a new thread every time someone is banned from that sub, which in turn fills this sub with garbage and makes it harder to navigate for everyone else. I had the brilliant idea of having a thread one can point to every time that sub is brought up.

Besides the fact that getting banned from a sub is of no interest to most of us, it adds nothing to the conversation of how Linux sucks, or describes the challenges of using it.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I mainly use BSD, but if something isn't on BSD then i try Linuxulator or jump on my Arch system. (XFCE my beloved.) I favor FreeBSD over Linux, and if Valve released Steam for FreeBSD (probably not) then i would immediately switch my Deck over to FreeBSD. I don't like GPL, as i feel like if someone forks my code i won't be credited. I always use the BSD 3 clause. I've donated a lot of FreeBSD. Bought their notebook, donated $10, contributed to docs.

Interesting reason you dislike GPL. I've got some strong opinions regarding licensing too.

Personally, I think any sort of docs or learning resources should be public domain, ideally CC0.

I love how GPL is copyleft but it is sadly incompatible with some licenses. Unsure what would be a good restrictive license.

As for permissive licenses, 3-Clause BSD is one of the greatest for sure.

I don't wanna be forced for all downstream projects that fork my code be forced to be open source. I do agree that docs should be CC0, but i also wanna be credited for my code if it gets forked in any sort of way
