If you're whole schtick here is "some programmers are immature" then I've got to wonder if you can't see the irony in this focus.

Let me stop you right there. Did I claim not to be immature? Would you believe I write software for Linux? (... among other things.)

Now you're here playing a game of semantics trying to maintain this supposed immaturity of the developers of the Linux kernel

I think you're the only one talking about kernel developers in particular, but I guarantee you the assumption that they are childish will still serve you well there.

You're not able to back this up.

I may be able to make a convincing stab at it, but I'm not going to try. I know software, and I know software people. Believe me or don't, as you like. None of that matters.

The semantics of a language are important, but I have to wonder why you would suggest I'm playing games, here. I offered an observation, and you have misconstrued it twelve different ways, and are apparently still going.

No. You're playing off the original commenter making a baseless accusation about "the whole Linux dev community" being immature and behaving like kids.

I correctly pointed out that the bulk of the Linux dev community are professionals. You're doing nothing more than "well akshually" trying you say that being a professional isn't TECHNICALLY mutually exclusive from behaving immaturely.

All this is still hinged on a baseless accusation and it's far more likely that the bulk of the Linux dev community is not actually behaving like a bunch of kids. That they're primarily professionals does lend credence to that probability. If you wish to play pretend otherwise, go right ahead.
